Over at Key23, they seem to spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to spread ideas, mainly occult and counter-cultural ideas. Some of it I like and some of it I don’t care too much for. I’m still not totally convinced of the need for any of this, but one commenter over there left a comment on this post about how to sneak people in to your website through a sort of cultural backdoor. His idea was to make up fake fliers, stickers or signs that say things like: “Lose weight now!”, or “Need a second income? Make $500-2000 per week” and then have a URL to your website.

It seems like to pull off an idea like this though you’d actually need to have content at that URL which relates to the promise made by your flyer. Yes, I understand about being subversive, but if you ask somebody to come to your website who wants to lose weight or make money, and instead you offer them information about the occult, they aren’t going to be like, “Hm, maybe I’ll take up study of the occult!” They will instead promptly leave your website without a second thought. It’s very simple, really. No mystery to it. If you wanted to be really sneaky though, you could actually set up some kind of weight-loss or pyramid money scheme, make a bunch of quick and dirty money, and then use that money on marketing to people who would actually be interested in your message. An even cooler idea would be to create a pyramid or weight-loss scheme and then use it as a teaching tool to teach people about “magick” and how to make changes in the world based on willpower and effective action.

Anyway, that’s my two cents.
