From New Scientist:
The new study by US psychologists found that people shown erotic or gory images frequently fail to process images they see immediately afterwards. And the researchers say some personality types appear to be affected more than others by the phenomenon, known as “emotion-induced blindnessâ€. [...]
“We observed that people failed to detect visual images that appeared one-fifth of a second after emotional images, whereas they can detect those images with little problem after neutral images,†Zald says.

So mom was right!
I suppose this is like the whole idea of the U.S. government somehow engineering events of 9/11. Blow shit up, kill your own people, and maybe they won’t notice us pumping billions of dollars into these weapons, tech, and other companies that they happen to be personally involved with?
Just an overheard speculation, ya know…
shock does induce increased susceptability to reprogramming. 9/11, jesuit indoctrination, k-mart(surprisingly low prices.). and the truth is that we don`t know what we don`t know.
since it’s called emotion-induced blindness, i read the whole thing to see the effect of images that induce emotions like love or happiness. but the only “emotions” these scientists seem to have explored are our responses to gore and porn. you can take the scientists out of nazi germany…
Yeah, I bet this study was funded by some huge media conglomerate because they want to figure out a way to get better impact for their advertising/propagandizing dollar
