Power Belongs To Those Who Claim It

Zac of Alchemical Braindamage put together what I think is a brilliant post on the subject of power. Here’s a little taste of his rhetorical kung-fu, but I recommend going and reading the whole thing. It made me want to go out and chop down a mountain with the edge of my hand…

The truth about power is that it’s already right there in front of you. You are born with all the authority you can ever need. You have way more power than you can ever use.

and I can hear all the little bitches whining already…. but I don’t feel powerful..whinewhinewhine

Yeah exactly. EXACTLY. You don’t FEEL powerful. Why the fuck do you think that is? Do you think they raise robot slaves and obedient servants to feel powerful? Of course they fucking don’t, asshole. Go banish some more and shut the fuck up. Come back when you’re ready to pull your head out of your ass.

Nothing you see, or read or experience is going to make you powerful. There is nothing contained in these words. There is nothing contained in any words, anywhere. It is in you right now. It doesn’t come from people either. You are either a master, a mistress, or a slave. You are either one of those people who is waiting for someone to tell them what do or you are not. It’s digital. On or off.

get with the fucking program or go home.

And the comments this aroused from people are really just priceless in my opinion. Go over and check it out, along with parts 1, 2, 3 of the same series. Then come back here tell me if you think he’s just nuts or what. Does power simply belong to those who claim it? Do you claim it? DO YOU FEEL IT?!?!

it comes as a surprise to some how they talk to themselves, in thier head.the words they use and the tonality. nasal, whiney….whine, whine, whine. no wonder they aren`t powerful. i didn`t read the rest of the material you suggested yet tim, but a large part of my work in nlp is to help people with thier internal dialog. the voices in thier head. it`s the thing that drives thier heel.( brenda lee…..) . power comes to those who speak to themselves in strong, affirmative language. “get the fuck going” is great, as long as it`s fully positive. the internal dialog is nattering along most all of the time unless you are a buddhist monk and have switched it off(for some odd reason). we catch ourselves talked into and out of everything that we do via this voice.
i like to do this exercise in my head; i develop a text for a task that i need to do such as a presentation or preparing for a soccer game or a bike ride and i get one of my favorite actors to say the lines over to me as i prepare. clint eastwood or sean connery are two of my favorites. the more you do it, the more strong feelings you get as a response and the better the tasks will be managed as a result. i can get goose bumps before a soccer game if i do the practice right.
if the voice in your head isn`t encouraging in it`s language and tone, tell it to shut the fuck up and get a better voice, NOW.

o.k. i read it. drew the whiney in like moths to the flame. interesting how people want to see credentials…. more giving up power to authority. i`m an arrogant asshole who just goes ahead anyway, so that kind of thinking is alien to me. my karma ran over thier dogma. no apologies. they should have leashed the damn thing.

i like the nlp sub-modality reference in the banishing discussion. i think nlp, magick, hypnosis, shamanism, mysticism ,etc. is all the same thing when done well. it is the outcome that is the most important thing, not how the hell you get there.

I’m obviously just nuts. everyone knows that by now. I’m hopefull somebody out there gets the point, or least has a good laugh.

    BANISH EVERYTHING! me included.

all I need is a swastika tattooed on my forehead now…

what, just for telling the brutal truth, previously known only to maoists and 33rd degree freemasons?

  6. zacharius Says:

well that’s the point innit? if the only people who can understand and accept the rules of the game ( that there are none ) are the maoists, masons, and sundry satanic cultists, we’re good and fucked aren’t we?

the shallow graves of the world are full of goodie goodies who haven’t got the guts to face what gives the baddie baddies their juice. sure it’s a temptation, and sure lots of people fall off. hell most folks can’t even raise kids properly. that’s real power to fuck things up. using your so-called free will is hardly a glimmer compared to that.

I’m just sick of seeing well meaning folks run over because they think martyrdom and tepid neutered compassion is the way to change things. Most nice people just want to be liked, and they’ll fuck an infant up the ass if they need to be liked enough. sometimes to do good things you have to be hated. get a helmet.

    LOL!!!!!!!

Frankly, I think that Zac’s oversimplified things. He’s written a pep talk, not a worthwhile plan of action.

Here’s the problem with Satano-Ayn-Rand-Egoism–it takes a smart person to pull it off. If you think I’m whining, go cast a sigil to get one thing you want: “It is my will that I get rich.” You’ll get rich, alright, probably after you file the lawsuit for all the disfiguring toxic-waste burns. Maybe should have thought it out just a little before the moronic go-ahead.

I suppose this comment makes me a “whiny bitch,” or maybe me stepping back to think makes me pretentious. That’s fine, if you want to stick around for the second-circuit, preliterate–I use those terms both scientifically and prejoratively–circle-jerk. You boys want to pretend that any criticism is “whining,” go right ahead. As far as picking one thing I really want to do and doing it now, I wanted to get that assignment I took two weeks ago finished. I probably won’t finish today, but I’m writing it right now, got the window open and four hundred words in the past hour–does that make me a whiny bitch? What the fuck are *you* doing to accomplish your goals?

  9. channel null Says:

Speaking of lacking brains, I just realized that “zacharius” was the owner of Alchemcial Braindamage, and his comments elucidate things further. More commentary to come at my site in a little while, after I get my goals closer to finished, huh?

And let’s not just blame whining, let’s go for laziness and TV, too.

  10. alistair Says:

it`s about yelling at yourself constructively to get things done sufficiently to effect brain chemistry. the stimulation of a glandular response takes some sufficient push. jumping up and down works. blood bressure up. heart rate up. yelling works. throwing things around works. smiling and laughing works. i believe primal scream therapy is, in part about that. a jumpstart for the psyche.
this yelling and screaming thing is the first step for some to learning the process of magick. you wont get rich by yelling and screaming but if your goal by yelling and screaming is to get you to the next level of motivation so that you will cast a spell, get a job, put up a web page, cut the grass, finish a report, etc. noneof this happens by whining. all that does is turn off your adrenal gland and increase your stress levels to the point where, if you make it a habit, you will become sick.

    Woah, woah, woah. Ayn Rand?!

Wrong Self, dude. If you are trying to draw power from your ego, or think that’s where Will and Wisdom originate…

Positivist Ayn “Ahriman” Rand is the polar(!) opposite of the Magician on the Tarot card.

Why was your first impulse to defend yourself against accusations of whining!? Pay attention to what the internal voice is saying. Any story you tell yourself is SUSPECT.

viva laziness and tv! two of my favorite things.

  13. Anonymous Says:

Good call on the Ayn Rand thing. That was what Steiner said, though, that the “satanic” was a tight-rope between the Ahrimanic and Luciferean. Ahriman is fucking boring, and we’re stuck in his age… I guess I have some trouble dealing with the Satanists–even though I often feel the pull of the Dark Side, I can never tell what exactly they’re after, I sense a lot of that Ahriman-Lucifer tension in the CoS stuff, and it’s not always clear. LaVey talks about giving in to impulses but not being compulsive, but then goes to advocate the compulsion thing. A great deal of “magick” is self-control, self-discipline, self-mastery–becoming aligned to the “Higher Self” vs. the whiny Ego. To pursue the intention “I will get laid” isn’t the same as “I want to get laid”… If one’s life goal is to be knee-deep in cunt, then, well, I mean, I’d like to be, but I’m not devoting my will to the relentless pursuit of easy women. I’d also like to, you know, do something, like throw fireballs using the power of my mind, or maybe write a bestseller.

And I had to take the pot-shot at Ms. Rand, target of oppurtunity. I don’t know whether I was “defending” myself or “poisoning the wells.”

Allistair, I’m wary of excitatory gnosis, typically, I don’t think it’s healthy. I had a lot of yelling and screaming in my childhood, though, maybe it’s an old wound–I need a calm voice to steer me. Come to think of it, though I also use the screaming one, though.

Right now, I’ve scaled my goals back to eating dinner, and maybe having a drink and watching TV, The Work is finished for today.

  14. alistair Says:

yelling and screaming was common in my childhood too. i guess the excitatory gnosis has to be used in balance. otherwise you`ll damage your vocal cords. i think to be able to scale back one`s goals is a victory over ego. which is the greatest battle. in a balance though. the ego has a role also, otherwise we wouldn`t be talking.
