Plane Crash Dreams



Last night I had a plane crash dream. I had one a long time ago about this red and white plane crashing by a neighborhood near the water. And coincidentally or not, that same weekend, I saw a newscast of a crash in a Colorado neighborhood with a small red and white plane. This one last night actually involved two planes though. The second one I remember better, as I was on a beach or riverfront, and the plane fell into the water, hitting and sinking a very large boat that was there. It could have been a river although I got the impression that it was more of an inlet between two larger bodies of water. Everything was sandy.

I just found a website that claims plane crash dreams have to do with careers, but this doesn’t feel remotely accurate to my dream:

The message of “plane crash” dreams always is the same. It’s time to rescue your self from feelings of being in a “free fall” by taking concrete steps to reassert your goals and values.

The dream they are describing on that page features the dreamer inside the plummeting plane, which was not the case for me. Looking on Google, it seems that plane crash dreams are fairly common. Has anybody else had ones like these?

    there was a guy interviewed on rense.com and mysteries of the mind some years ago who kept having a dream of a plane crash. the dream persisted for days and days, exactly the same. he saw the type of plane, the airport and the airline. he contacted the airline and the airport and told them what he was experiencing and apparently they have a mechanism whereby these reports are filed. the plane then actually crashed as described, at the airport he saw in the dream, landing in a cornfield in a ball of flames. the guy had some serious mental problems as result and then came forward because he was having a recurring dream about a planet coming round the sun and hitting the earth. i don`t know what happened to him after that and i can`t remember his name. i will check the rense archives.

    I had a plane crash dream just a few nights before yours. A plane had trouble landing and finally it made a landing in the totally wrong part of the airport, and it skidded around in circles and just barely avoided crashing into a bunch of stuff.

    I think in my case the dream just meant: I feel like this is a tense time but we’re going to make it through.

    I have had plane crash dreams and they’re extremely disturbing. Watching a plane crash from afar.

    Occasionally I dream that I am on a plane (or piloting one) that is flying where it is not supposed to, e.g. low down along a major freeway.
