I just happened across a really good collection of medieval art. Actually, it seems to be almost exclusively black and white drawings from block prints, which is even better. This is an excellent rare find online. It’s called Medieval Macabre, and describes itself as:
These illustrations of medieval Devils, Demons, Witches, & Monsters are from authentic period sources. There are no 20th century-inspired fantasy images in this collection, nor any modern art with a medieval theme - these are the true visions our medieval ancestors had of the preternatural, the supernatural, and the unwordly.
It’s organized into several different galleries with thumbnails and text descriptions, and a separate clip art section (also from historical sources). Totally awesome find!

All those depictions of “Death and the Fool” “Death as hunter” etc. kind of brings to bear that our media fixation with violence is nothing new. My two cents, anyway; good find.
Kind of disappointed by the lack of little grey men, though.
