The obvious question is:

Do things have spirits independant of the power projected by the individual?
Or are the spirits merely projections of the individual onto his environment?

And practically speaking, does it matter which is true? Does it change the outcome of any interaction with the 'spirit'?

I did not think of this until now, but I suppose that an individual projection is is only as powerful as the individual content being projected, but a collective communal projection must be as powerful as the collective. Thus some spirits are more powerful than others. So a shaman is one who has through whatever means, gained the ability to communicate with the communal spirit and can thus guide the collective unconscious of the community.

It seems so obvious when written down, but it sounds so empty. Well, hopefully something was communicated through those empty words. No, I'm not high, right now.

In Shinto, too, they consider that even machines have a spirit.
