There’s a reference to Napolean’s daimon in Patrick Harpur’s Daimonic Reality (great book, by the way, if you haven’t already read it… right up your alley). If I recall correctly, Harpur was quoting from a Jungian psychologist on the subject. She claimed Napoleon’s daimon guided him during the French Revolution. Sometimes it showed up as a shining sphere, which he called his star. At other times it popped in to warn him as a dwarf dressed up like Little Red Riding Hood.

No, that’s all any of them use to describe the Red Man. Steiger claims the first visit was the bedchamber. I know some of Hitler’s were as well. I’d have to look into the others.

Did all of these entities generally visit in the bedroom? Just wondering. I know that it says that the Red Man appeared on Mt. Sinai, but don’t the initial encounters happen when the person is in bed? And does it talk about why the entity is called the Red Man? Does he look iconically “devil”-like, or is he just red?
