But the concept of the "prison" you've proposed is exactly what I think the Matrix was all about. It makes me realize how great that movie trilogy really was, for all of its flaws and &lt;em&gt;Whoah-Keanu-knows-kung-fu&lt;/em&gt;'s. And then I get to thinking about other things you've mentioned about making conspiracy pop culture to make it, in some ways, less effective. The more publicly entertaining something becomes and the more conspiracy theorists rant about it, the less believable of a concept it becomes. 

Like the whole New World Order/Illuminati thing. Even if it does exist, it's such a joke that they can do absolutely anything with it and no one will take it for anything more than a big tongue-in-cheek laugh. And then sell sell sell! Real or not, it's profit. And a rather powerful vicious circle if you ask me, no matter what the relevance.</description>
