I’m only posting this as a question to arouse the ire of a commenter on one of my previous posts who clearly has his panties on way too tight.
I personally think it’s great fun to talk and wonder about really big tremendous questions like we do here. And if we don’t give each other the opportunity to do so and share what we find, then who will? Maybe it’s out of all of our leagues. Or maybe there’s no such thing as leagues. I’m not really sure any of that matters as much as us just moving forward, sharing, asking questions. And even people who want to be feisty and antagonistic are welcome to do so here.

panties?
Some people plainly don’t get it. But then again, sometimes I forget that not everyone on the internet is an american.
What does that mean?
Now I don’t know about that son of god stuff, but I do have it on good authority that Jesus wore panties that were tight but not too tight, and just covered withs stars of credibility.
lol, so predictable. A few questions… Who is Tim Boucher? Why do we care what Tim Boucher’s opinions are? What are Tim Boucher’s real credentials i.e qualifications to bring up such heady subject matter? Does Tim Boucher really have any authority of discussion in the arena of God, Jesus, the Illuminati, Secret Societies, Aliens, Race, Conspiracy theory? If the answer to that is “no,” no proven authority (no notable research done to advance the understanding) then the inevitable followup question is: Why does Tim Boucher feel like we care what his opinions are? Why does Tim Boucher continue to discuss topics that are out of his range of expertise and authority, and continue to avoid smaller personal topics? Does Tim Boucher feel like small personal topics are irrelevant and important? How much does Tim Boucher value his own worth as a human being?
ok whew, done with the questions, give you guys something to ponder over. Personally I’m fed up with any psuedo wannabee troll discussion on Secret Societies, Aliens, Illuminati, God, Jesus, etc… I believe that’s what radio shows like Coast to Coast and empty headed ramblers like Alex Jones are designed for. Interesting mindless entertainment, to avoid real discussion about a person’s own self. I guess discussing yourself, you’re personal life is less important because that action would actually require balls and real fortitude and originality. It would mean taking a chance and putting yourself out there to potentially get ridiculed. An action that 99 percent of the lackeys on the internet don’t have the courage or intelligence to do. But hey, I guess that’s why they call it the internet! lol Looking forward to reading some more grand information on these beautiful stratospheric and largely impersonal topics.
Thanks
and also, does everyone on the internet have this huge issue with their self esteem? Like they are always on here looking for someone to give them a nice warm pat on the back? I don’t get it… No one seems to care that I showered him with compliments on his intelligence and good writing abilities. The immediate low self esteem, knee jerk reaction is to brand me as some kind of lunatic rebel outcast poster, for the less complimentary comments.
Also, for what it’s worth, I kind of agree with that newspaper writer person from yale, this world and society is a little bit too fragmented, and you seriously wonder why…
also, I do like Tim Boucher’s artwork, it’s really cool stuff. However I see some pretty obvious borrowed influences from Zelda Wind Waker and “I-Robot.” Nothing wrong with that I suppose, I’m a pretty big fan of both.
thank you
What an appropriate use of words by “Mark S.”
I say appropriate because it seems that Mr. Mark forgot the whole meaning behind Jesus (regardless of your deeper beliefs). In one word, Jesus is compassion, love, understanding, forgiveness. Unfortunately for Mr. Mark (and some of our “fellow bloggers”), he failed to adequately show any of those traits.
Is Jesus Really the Son of God? I dunno, I’ll have to ask him someday, if I ever meet him (or God, since he’d be able to identify who his son(s) is). That’s the whole point of right-brain discussions, to explore, to search, and to expand (one’s mind, understanding, etc). The left-brain is for answering trivial questions like who’s who, but it is the right-brain, the seemingly forgotten side of humanity, that is meant for such philosophical discussion and exploration.
The biggest problem with people today is the conscious and unconscious rejection of their right-brain. They reject their creativity, and hence reject their maker, for one can never be like God, never be like Christ, unless you also embrace the very thing that led you into existence - CREATIVITY.
Even though I am american, I find that highly offensive. Being american does not mean that you “get it”. In fact, I would argue that most americans don’t “get it”. America is too left-brained, and too controlled, consciously and unconsciously, and still stuck on the belief of freedom and equality. While freedom and equality are great things to strive for, they are not the definitions of American, just mere illusions to satisfy the unlearned, and fill our bellies with lies and incompetence.
But I digress. The biggest problem I see in the media, on the internet, and even in the forums (yes, even here at PopOcculture), is the lack of respect and open-minded acceptance I see in people. It’s almost like high school; there’s an “in group” (usually people “consumed in the matrix”), and an “out group” (freethinkers and alternative searchers), and while people respect the people within their group, they still show disrespect, fear, hatred, and contempt towards the other group. It’s kinda disheartening, but I guess it just shows the amount work that needs to be done in this world to make things better.
Mark, there’s no response I can give you which is going to satisfy you. I suggest that if you’re so intent on wanting a particular kind of writing, that you stop wasting your time begging me to do it for you and go make it happen for yourself. I’ll be happy to come and read it.
I guess discussing yourself, you’re personal life is less important because that action would actually require balls and real fortitude and originality.
Mark S.’s blog:
Hey guys! Tonight I had Macaroni and Cheese for dinner again. LOL! Oh, and guess what? I got a birthday card today from my aunt with 15 dollars in it! Good thing, too, ’cause I really needed to buy some new socks. Oh, and my cat Mitzie did the cutest thing today! I mean, I can’t really explain what it is, ’cause it’s kind of hard to put into words, but trust me, it was cute. Hey, guess what else? I’m having pistachio ice cream for dessert! It’s delicious! Well, gotta go!
hey, mark s. what credentials do we need to make observations? and what credentials did buddha have? who taught him? or jimi hendrix for that matter? we accept and welcome your comments, if for no other reason than to provoke more conversation. you may well actually be tim boucher for all we know and it would be absolutely unimportant if you were.
mark, if you are looking for peer reviewed material here then you have come to the wrong place. we just freely make this shit up as we go along.
Mark S.,
It sounds like you’re trying to do a psychological evaluation of a blogger, and failing miserably, and it also seems like you’re missing the whole point of this website, and sites like it. Again, Mark, you’re too caught up in left-brained evaluations to see the point behind speculation and philosophical pondering. Everyone is entitled to use their right-brain, and no one needs authority or qualifications to do so. Also, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and anyone who tries to restrict the opinions of others is one step away from tyranny, and probably under the control of some kind of fear. The whole point of blogging is to write outside the restrictions and boundaries of tyrranical pyramidal power structures. And furthermore, Mark, if you truly pay attention to Tim’s site, and truly look at the responses, and the following contained within, you’ll see that this site has less to do with one “young man’s” opinions, and more to do with the general search of a group of people, a fellowship, if you will, of like minds, trying to reach out and grasp all the little complexities and fringe areas of reality; trying to go beyond the restrictive areas of credentials and qualifications, and break free of the paradigms and dogmas that plague humanities existence.
As far as qualifications go, what the hell does that matter? Are you saying that you have to “earn” a degree to be allowed to think? I hope you’ve been through college, Mark, and seen the bullshit contained therein. For all the good academia has done us, it is still entrenched in the same dogmatic crap that all other institutions are weighed down by (the only difference is that it has a greater diversity of bullshit:) ). And if you also notice, Tim does post a lot about himself, his job searches, his various dreams, etc., so it’s not like he doesn’t have the balls to talk about himself (unlike Coast to Coast, Alex Jones, Rense, etc).
And lastly, Mark, if you’re still reading this:
If qualifications are so important to being a writer, and being “allowed” to blog and think outside the box and ponder deep questions, then what qualifications do YOU have to be a critic? You must have some qualifications or credentials, or some shred of reason for US to listen to YOU, right? Because by your own logic, if Tim doesn’t have the necessary “experience” to be allowed to divulge his opinions, why should you be allowed to divulge your critiques without an appropriate level of certification?
And thus, if you don’t have the proper credentials to critique Tim, should Tim have the proper credentials to write whatever comes to his mind?
Or as Noam Chowsky (despite whatever his intentions may be) said:
Freedom of expression means ANYTHING, including pondering about that which is beyond the human mind’s (or at least, left-brain’s) capacity to answer.
Actually if I was going to start an ego hinged topic, it would be “Should someone kill Snoop Dogg…” I seriously think it’s about time someone aced that character, those two words get on my nerves more than anything else mentioned in the media. Maybe Jesus and I don’t see eye to eye on that, but I don’t care. I can’t stand Snoop Dogg and his moronic braindead legion of followers. Ahh!! On my hate list, I think I’ll have to Rank Snoop Dogg as number 1, followed by Tom from myspace as a close 2, and Noam Chomsky (not Chowsky you idiot) as number 3. Oh yeah and anyone in this world who feels inclined to post up a quote from Chomsky to back up whatever they say, has totally ruined their credibiliy for all time in my book. That guy is a grade A leech and dirty rat ass scumbag and anyone who agrees with him or any of his quotes are pretty much the same.
thank you
also, I forgot to say LOL to Kylark… That’s not quite the type of personal introspective blog I was thinking of, but you’re getting close. And nothing wrong with macaronni. I’m sorry, but I’m just not all that enthralled with the so called agendas and goings on of secret societies. I talked to a mason once who claimed he was a 33rd degree and I asked him if freemasonry was a secret society. He laughed and said, “No Mark, you have it all wrong. We’re not a secret society, we’re a society that has secrets.” I kind of laughed and scratched my head on that one, but in honesty I could care less about that those guys do, and I’m really glad though that we had such great prominent freemasons who helped get our country started in its early infantile years of development. Me, you, or anyone here could become a freemason if we wanted, it’s not that hard. I mean there’s only like what, 50,000 lodges scattered across the united states? But anyway I say we talk less about freemasons and more about how we should get together and kill media glory hounds like Snoop Dogg!! argh!!! (reaches for my wind waker pirate sword)
Yeah I’m extremely tired of Snoop Dogg too. I mean the guy has just gotten so successful that it’s just time to retire gracefully I think or take a step behind the scenes. But hey, he’s making money off the image he created, I can’t fault him for that.
Anyway, Mark - I think secret societies are for the most part increasingly boring as well. I feel like we’re really on the same page on a lot of stuff here, which is why it seems weird you seem to have kind of gone off on a tear over my choice of bringing that subject up. I mean, hell, it’s not the only thing I’ve written lately, but it’s now been harped on so much and to what end?
Also, to answer your comments about writing things that are more personal. I find it to be a very big balancing act. Whether or not you’re willing to accept it, I sink an extremely large amount of my time, personal commitment and introspectiveness into my site. There are absolutely borders I won’t cross when it comes to writing about my personal life, and I’m comfortable with those boundaries as I’ve defined them. In any event, what I want to write about here is not so much me and my struggles, but the intersections between all of our struggles. Besides your oveall shrill and accusatory tone of voice, I think that’s the thing I reacted to most strongly in your criticisms - your inability or unwillingness to see into the sincere, honest and totally open communications that go on here at my site. Not just from me, but from everybody.
Jesus was the son of God as much as any of the rest of us are, at least.
How true, Molly, no matter what a person may believe.
Mark, you seem to have serious acceptance issues, and a lot of unexpressed hate. I’m not going to let your words have any effect on may, though it almost seems like you’re in dire need to pick a fight with someone. As for Chomsky (sorry for flippin a w for an m,
), I hardly agree with what he says, but that quote is so true, and is a fundamental part of democracy. If you can’t look at that quote without bias and agree that it is fundamental to democracy, then I suggest you might be better off trying to go live in Cuba or North Korea because you are one of the many reasons why democracy is failing here in the US. Those who place themselves above others do not belong in a democratic system (maybe a capitalistic system, but then again, capitalism is another major reason democracy is failing in the US).
And lastly, I should hope that I’m not a “a grade A leech and dirty rat ass scumbag”, and in all honesty, I doubt you are too, Mark, though it seems that way at times.
what’s wrong with being “a grade A leech and dirty rat ass scumbagâ€? it’s a way to make a living.
i seem to be coming in late to this little tete-a-tete, but it’s pretty interesting reading, i must say! i guess my only question for ‘mark s.’ (if that really is your name) is whether he really thinks his approach will honestly get anyone to change their minds or approaches to discussion. imho, his approach is like trying to carve a loaf of spam with a chainsaw. what value the attack?
spam with a chainsaw, mmmmm sounds like processed meat to me
I’ve always thought it was pretty odd to want to discourage discussion on topics anyone (let alone a group of likeminded people) deems relevant, important, or even just interesting… period. I’m not sure what credentials are required for curiosity.
