Occult Books for Sale!
Since I’m going out to Seattle in a few weeks, possibly for quite a while, I’m doing some end of the year cleaning. I have a bunch of books that I’m planning on getting rid of, and figured maybe listing them for sale here would be a good way to drum up a little bit of pocket change for my voyage.
I’m trying to figure out what would be reasonable as far as sales terms goes. I don’t want to waste time listing all these on eBay, and dealing with all their fees and whatnot. So how about I just list the title and author of the book, if there are any obvious defects, page count and a link to the book new on Amazon for more information.
As far as pricing goes, I’m not sure what the best way to do this is. I’m pretty content to just take first come, first served on these books. If you want one (or more), just make me a reasonable offer, and that should be that. Send what books you want, your offer, and I will send you confirmation that those books are still available, along with my PayPal address. I’ll accept payment through PayPal only, as I’m looking for a quick turnaround on this, so I can have some extra money to get things in gear with before I go. My only request is don’t offer me so little that it’s not worth my time to walk down to the post office. I’m hoping for something near to half of what the book would sell for new on Amazon, but am flexible.
Shipping fees: please only order if you’re in the continental US. I don’t want to get screwed on some crazy overseas shipping charges. Let’s just keep it simple and do Book Rate. Send me your zip code so I can weigh and calculate a shipping cost from the Postage Rate Calculator site. I imagine I will have to tack on $0.50-1.00 per envelope or box required to ship whatever items you order, but I will figure out how much that is tomorrow at the store.
All sales will be final, in as-is condition. I treat my books really well and most of these are in like-new or very good condition (with exceptions noted below). You won’t find any note-taking, underlining or highlighting in these books, because I hate that.
As books are sold, I will cross them off the list. If anybody has any questions about any of this, or wants to propose another special arrangement, email me and we’ll talk. (PS. a couple of them have pretty high cover prices, so I’m suggesting a starting “bid” for those)
Anyway, It’d really help me out if you wanted to buy any of these, or if you simply wanted to just drop me a small friendly donation to wish me luck on my way. Email me for details.

Tim, I don’t know man… I’m almost thinking you wouldn’t have to worry about money and stuff so much, especially with your move to seattle, if you gave up this Occult nonsense and devoted yourself to the lord. And I’m not suggesting selling out to some fake religious cult like mormonism or something, but to try and find a true knowledge and seeking of Jesus Christ… Of course I leave that choice up to you, but it’s something to consider. I mean seriously, there is only so far you can with the Occult before you inevitably find out that it’s nothing but a dead end. I think you yourself even strongly hinted at that with your article on “Is Ufology Dead?” If you think about it, if Ufology dies then the Occult pretty much dies, because the Occult is always looking for that ‘holy grail’ type of negative allurement to lead people away from the light. Ufos, aliens, greys, seemed to perform that function perfectly, but like you just recently suggested, those fads are starting to die… In the end there is only one of two sides you can be on and that choice is ultimately yours. Fancy linguistics, fake mensa jargon aside, that choice will still ultimately come, and it’s the same choice that everyone on this planet will face.

Well that’s certainly an interesting viewpoint, but it does little to alleviate my current situation, Mark. Nor does it seem to recognize that there are many ways in which one can “devote oneself to the Lord,” not all of which need to make sense to anybody but the person doing the devoting.

Mark, People all over the world are starting to wake up from this illusion. Check out Reverend Carlton Pearson’s story over at “This American Life”. Its an amazing story of one man’s courage to stand up to what his heart knows is wrong:

Leave the dogma behind and join the body of the living Spirit.

So what you’re saying is. he should sell out to a real religious cult instead?
Funny, the occult seemed to be doing fine for centuries before ufology was even invented.
Tim, I’d happily take some of those books off your hands if I had shelf space and weren’t in another country…

Bleh-Bleh! Ignorance is Evil.

You haven’t seen me get evil yet.

Evil? What is evil? For that matter, what is good?
NOTHING.
They’re words to convey how we feel towards something, thus an opinion. No “thing” can be in the state of an “opinion”, hence no “thing” is good or evil. It may feel good or evil, but those words are mere projections of one’s personal opinion onto a “thing”. Now, something may be greedy or selfish or murderous (etc.), and hence those more specific states of being may lead you to label something “evil”; it may influence your opinion to use a word that is too vague to have much usefulness, but nothing IS evil.
As for UFOlogy and the occult (or for that matter, Christianity and the Occult), the Occult is far older than either ufology or christianity (and much, much older than xtianity). If you break the word down, occult merely means “the hidden”, or the unknown. As long as there are still secrets in the world, as long as we aren’t omnicient, the occult will always persist because there will always be something “hidden” from us.

Mark, You seem very quick to judge. May I suggest that if you really want to understand evil you need look no further than the depths of your own heart. Cut off the root of misunderstanding within yourself first, then you will see clearly how to help others.

At first I thought Mark S must be joking.
and religion too. During the inquisition they also thought those who thought for themselves were evil.
On a happier note, happy new year y’all!
