26!
Today is my 26th birthday, so I’ll be away from my computer today doing birthday things. When I come back tonight or tomorrow though, I have a really awesome interview ready to publish with Rev Max, of Enemies.com about gnosticism and African Traditional Religions. It’s gonna be a hoot!
I also bought my train ticket to Seattle and will be arriving there on the 23rd. So, rock on! Anyway, here’s a little horoscope for me on my birthday courtesy of Rob Brezsny:
Stage magician David Copperfield made an intriguing announcement recently. He told the German magazine Galore that in his next show, he will use magic to make a woman pregnant–without touching her. That’s similar to the kind of mojo you will possess in 2006, Capricorn. It’s true that your success in the past has usually come from your pragmatic intelligence, organizational ability, and thoroughness. But in the coming months you will also have a talent for conjuring beautiful illusions that ultimately become very real.
Oh boy! Where were you in life when you were 26, or where do you hope to be, if you’re not yet?

Happy birthday n all that from Brazil :0)
Where do I hope to be when I’m 26? That’s waaaaay too far away
I’m never any good at looking far ahead, but thinking about where I’ll be in x years always fills me with a sense of anticipation and excitement! I’m hugely optimistic in nearly everything I do so the idea of looking into the future really floats my boat and helps me feel good when I’m feeling down.
No idea what I’ll be doing though… I’d love to publish some of my writings in a physical way so I can hand them out or let people have hard copies of them. I have so many plans for things to write, I could easily write til I keel over even though I don’t write that much at all at the moment. I loooove writing.
I’ve always had this dream of my own land aswell. When I get some land (I’m pretty sure I will when I leave my teens), it will be a huge step for me and I can’t wait. Before then I’d like to spend a month or so living in an ecovillage, meeting lots of neat people and learning some nifty skills.
Time will tell! I’ve been thinking about the future a lot lately (mainly because I’ve had a lot of time to think here) so I’ll probably blog about this tommorow/tonight.

“When I was 26/ it was a very good year…”
Not exactly what Ol’ Blue Eyes sang, but you get the drift…
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIM!

I moved to Seattle when I was 25-26. Good an age as any I guess. Happy Birthday Tim!
How the fuck did I wind up being such an old fart?
Reminds me of some joke like Dean Martin or somebody said when asked about how they felt about a friend who’d just turned 70.
Dean Martin (or whoever it was) replied: How do I feel? Well if he’s 70 that makes me 74. (something like that at least)

Happy Birthday!
I’m currently 24 but I’m trying not to set long term goals because what I want and what my body lets me do are vastly differnet.

I’ll have to get a present for you, and let’s just say it relates to that dream you had a while back about your huge arrival in the Pacific NW….

Happy Birthday Tim. You’re now as old as my current relationship. As for what I was doing at that age… I was gathering experience. I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.

Haha. Whoever nominated me for the Bloggies, awesome! Yeah, I think this site absolutely qualifies as a blog.
Everybody else, thanks for the birthday wishes. So far I have a lot of ideas about what 26 will be like, but we’ll see how it pans out.

Happy Birthday tim! As for me, I just turned 26 myself in November and I had planned to become a postman this year, but even though I passed the exam and got an interview, I realized that being an RCA just isn’t for me. First of all, I would only get 8 hours a week, i’d be on call, and it would take around 4 years before I could become full-time with all the benefits that provides. Oh, and ontop of it. . once you get a route, you basically can’t transfer to another district without starting all over at the bottom of the ladder. Sooooo, yah. . .not gonna happen. I guess I should just perfect my piano playing abilities this year and play in bars for tips. If I did that, I could totally see moving to Boston or something and getting a part-time job as a skycap or something on the side. Who knows. Anyway, I hope your 26th year is less confusing and more focused than mine is so far.

When I was 26 I was working a fucking awful job at a pharmacy. For my 26th birthday I gave myself the gift of quitting the job and handed in my two weeks’ notice. Alas, as things turned out, actually leaving the place would prove to be somewhat less easy than that (on what was supposed to be my final day, someone else—the person who’d been the cause of the workplace toxicity, as it happens—abruptly quit, so I wound up having to stay on a few more weeks)…
