I just got a nice email from a person who is still upset over the motherfucking research I did into the motherfucking Pope’s background. The visitor writes:

I agree with the person defending the pope… not everyone in germany was evil. in fact i think it was people like the maker of this blog that were the nazis. don’t you? i mean to so carelessly flash the word motherfucker around tells me a little something about his morals and what social standing he has in life. not a very good one. trust me i know. i read about your type all the time on mtv. like jackass and stuff like that. if you don’t want to have a german pope. clean up ur act and don’t act like such a looser. thank you

You’re motherfucking welcome. I’m sure you’ve learned a motherfucking lot about me and “my type” by “reading” MTV all these years.

Seriously though, you know what pisses me off the most about this letter? It’s not that this person took the time to share their opinion with me. I’m all for open debate, and I’m even happy to let people take personal jabs at me. But to imagine that you “know” me personally because you’ve been “reading” a lot of television, well that just says something about your morals and social standing, doesn’t it? It says that you’d rather apply a simple stereotype handed to you by the media, than get to know a real and complex person whose beliefs may challenge your own. I wish you the best of luck taking that motherfucking approach to life.
