The Churian Separatists
Somebody sent me this today. Normally I don’t like to post self-promotional items whole cloth that people mail to me, but I found this oddly intriguing, and perhaps worthy of further exploration:
You know God exists, now prove it scientifically.
The proposition of the experiment is this: People who build God’s Church produce more value than people who do not.
We already have our control group. Secular humanists will not take part in the experiment.
The two groups, we ask that your church be part of the second group, must be identical except for one input. In this experiment the single distinguishing factor will be the value of the Church we build.
We are stewards. The wealth we control belongs in the Church for the work of God but our understanding of what Church is has hindered our giving. !00% of all we have and do must be directed towards the work of Church building. The Church is an alternate way of living. All our work has to be done within the Church directed towards the vitality and prosperity of the Church. We are the Church. How else are we to be lights unless our energy is directed towards the Church rather than into building up the unbelievers of this world?
We are to separate. We the Church are not to be of this world. Our authority comes from 2Col: 6:14 - 7:1.
The Church does not exist because we have never created the conditions for its existence. We have never separated from the world to become as one body under Christ, the Church of God.

I don’t have a ton of time right this second to read through their site, but there are some interesting blurbs on the first page, such as:
Mathematics of Anti-Culturalism:
Culture is the vehicle through which politics works, without Christianity politics self destructs.
End this dependency. Kill the parasite. Politics does not deserve to survive on the back of the Christian Church.
You are the workman: “Whose temple do you build?
Anybody know anything more about these people or what they are all about?

yeah, i mean, even the word “separatist” is inherently political, isn’t it? they’re playing some nice word games though, i think.

Sci-Fi and mainstream fundamentalist Christianity, lol, somehow that just feels wrong and absurd. LOL, though I did write a long philosophical thesis paper on how Darth Vader represents Christianity in the Star Wars mythos.
Cheers!

What I would say to them: “There are now many effective treatment modalities for schizophrenia.”

I enjoyed this:
Products
Somehow, the choices of these three products is ominous. You start with the middle one, move to the bottom one, and then on to the top if the bottom doesn’t work.
Freaky.

I don’t like their website, so I refuse to acknowledge their existence.

[…] A while ago I posted a short blurb from a group called the Churian Separatists. And, no, they aren’t a species of aliens from Babylon 5. But I can’t quite figure out what they are, even after receiving the following email from the founder of the site Robert Burk: If the universe is alive and has choice then physical law becomes ethical law and ethical contraventions become strategic violations. Choice becomes the moral imperative and domination the source of all evil. […]
