There Must Be Some Misunderstanding…

I just got the following email from somebody who read my post about another Tim Boucher on MySpace and clearly missed the tongue-in-cheek quality of my original commentary:

Just wanted to let you know that the “Tim Boucher performing music out of Iowa using your name” was actually BORN with the name Tim Boucher. An unusual name, perhaps, but you’re not the only one who has it. Think about that before you claim other people are just trying to be you.

Um…. um…. PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS TRYING TO BE ME AND I HATE IT!!! STOP IT EVERYONE!!!

I think some folks lack the ability to grasp…I’ve wondered if it’s a literacy issue or if some people have conceptual asperger’s? I see so much obvious satire (see the “kill me canon” bit”) followed by drop dead serious commentary…

Come to think of it, I did once get in a nasty fighnt at the swiming pool the first time I met another littlke girl named Jennifer…I really did think she was “trying to be me.”

hahahaha. Speaking of “being you,” Tim, did you ever end up signing up for SecondLife? I know that it’s free for 5 or 6 days and then it’s $10ish for a basic membership (no monthly fees). I signed up a few years ago and forgot about it until you started posting again. And wow, I went back in the other night, and that place sure has gotten porny in a lot of areas!

No I haven’t signed up for it, but I do have some other things I’m planning to write about it.

It’s definitely interesting to think about the economy of that place. Products in products in products, resulting in actual money. When we’ve run out of ways to distribute products, we just have to create a whole new world where new ones can be made! It’s like reinventing the wheel, constantly. Kindof like buying $1000 design software for computers. Products for products for products. It’s like learning a new language that really has nothing to do with communication.

It’s nice to manipulate pseudo-space, but I think it’s more interesting and eventful to manipulate real space. :)
