Change to commenting system

Just wanted to make a quick announcement that I have modified how comments work on this site. Before, it was pretty much open so that anybody could comment any time and have it appear immediately online. Now, you’re required to leave your email address, and you will need to have one initial comment approved by me and then after that you’re good to go posting normally.

I am looking into making it a full-on registration system where you sign up, and it emails you a password, and then you have to log in to comment. I realize that makes things more complicated, but hope it won’t discourage serious commenters. I am looking into all my options though, so if anybody knows other ways to tweak WordPress commenting, please leave links below. Thanks!

I cannot promise I have anything valuable or constructive to say.
There’s my one comment. Glad to see things are working better the last few dayz.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone on here can tell me the name artist of the little cartoon drawing on this website…It looks like a monkey sitting on a throne or something, like maybe Lincoln memorial. I’ve contacted the blogger of the site but he doesn’t know, and the picture is too small to read the name. Thanks

okay, so here’s my one comment.

you still have a bunch of files on my computer, by the way!

Erm…. Here’s my test comment. For better or worse, I think you have a history of my comments also.

Yeah I don’t get how one comment held for revision thing is working. I guess it’s working based on old comments people already have? Seems like a stupid way of working. I think I will look aruond for another solution.

JP: you can delete those files. Thanks!

Sorry about the off topic, but if anyone knows the artist from the cartoon drawing on the link I posted, you can email me at txoutback@hotmail.com
    thanks

I’m not bothered about the commenting system, I’m just happy to be able to comment at all. Couldn’t access the site for nearly a fortnight there (although I now understand why, of course).

Hey man, I am glad you are taking comments again, I had some cool shit to say about the Davinci code, and a couple cool fuckin’ dreams.

Posting is definitely a like top 3 reason I come to this blog.

Mostly, I guess I just wanted to say that I think TDC is so successful, because besides being pimped with a 4′ tall display in every story people that can read at a 4th grade level might shop for impulse items, it’s just a rippin good read. I read that shit in about 5-6 hours non stop. Kinda funny how the whole thrust of the ’subplot’ or whatever is that the holy grail is actually “the female spirit” for lack of a better word and not a material object, and Sophie is such a moron in the book.
She is basically a foil for whatshisname to elaborate on the occult/secret society shit. Ahh a few other things bouncing around like why do there always have to be cops in every fuckin book and movie but whatever it’s trailing off.

If and when I finish a novel like that, on that scale — I guess — I hope that like the Catholic Church in its entirety picks it apart to shreds and finds three little errors.

    Glad to be back aboard.

Personally, I find myself way too lazy to log in to any site unless I’m dedicated to their forum. But the first-comment-approval system sounds wise.

I seem to often suggest your site as a good entry point to many who inquire about the occult with me. Just recently, I wrote down your URL for two teenagers who’d no concept of what “occult” meant (yes, everyone still hears “a cult,” which leads to more hassles, of course). I also hand mention it to the students I speak to at the University of Alberta, along with a few others, like Fantastic Planet and the Gnostic Friends Network, among others.

I think the one-comment system makes it a bit more inviting to the noob.
