Is A Tsunami Heading for the Pacific USA?
There have been a lot of strange rumblings lately about something big and bad headed for the Pacific Northwest. The most recent and public of them comes from none other than Pat Robertson:
Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says God told him storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America’s coastline this year.
Robertson has made the predictions at least four times in the past two weeks on his news-and-talk television show “The 700 Club” on the Christian Broadcasting Network, which he founded. Robertson said the revelations about this year’s weather came to him during his annual personal prayer retreat in January.
“If I heard the Lord right about 2006, the coasts of America will be lashed by storms,” Robertson said May 8. Wednesday, he added, “there well may be something as bad as a tsunami in the Pacific Northwest.”
That’s a pretty strange thing to say, right? Well, it gets a little stranger… Next week from the 23rd to 25th of May, FEMA is holding “Pacific Peril” - a “3 Day Multi-State Tsunami Exercise”:
SEATTLE, Wash. — The U.S. Department of Transportation in cooperation with Federal, State, local, and Canadian partners will host PACIFIC PERIL 06 from 23-25 May 2006 at Camp Rilea on the NW Oregon Coast. The three-day event will consist of a “training day” presenting earthquake and tsunami hazards and response plans, a full day Command Post Exercise (CPX) and a final table top review. The exercise play postulates a catastrophic seismic event that triggers a massive tsunami that devastates Pacific coastal communities from British Columbia to northern California. The Government of Canada, including the Province of British Columbia and the City of Vancouver, are also engaged in exercise play.
That’s pulled straight from a FEMA press release on their site (also interesting is that the “last edited” date on that FEMA page is May 8, the same day Robertson announced his own plan). Starting to sound a little fishy no? Reminds me of how supposedly during the London bombing, there was some kind of emergency “test” scenario being run. And also there are reports (which somebody else will have to check the veracity of) that on 9/11, there was some kind of war game being played that crippled our military’s response time when an actual emergency struck. Let’s hope that in this case, the third time is not the charm.
Sounds crazy, but could somebody trigger a tsunami on purpose? Supposedly there was something called Project Seal after WWII, which created (or tried to…) a so-called tsunami bomb. How real is that? Who knows. Since we’re moving now into the murky depths of conspiracy and conjecture. Let’s just pull out all the stops. Goro Adachi has been predicting big things for the Seattle area for quite some time now as well. Also check out these speculations on another conspiracy message board about how some comet or something is supposed to trigger a Pacific tsunami on May 25. I’m not really following all the threads there but maybe somebody else can decipher it. People on that site are also reporting an increase in global flooding dreams.
Which leads me to an old post of mine from a month or more ago. Actually, wait, no. I don’t think I ever posted this to my site. But on April 9th of this year, I had the following dream about Seattle flooding, which I sent to Garrett:
I had this really epic dream about an enormous flood that happened in the city. There were actually two successive waves or floods which swept through the city. One which was pretty bad, and it then subsided and everybody came outside to rebuild and whatnot. And at that moment a much bigger one hit. In the first one, we weren’t hit as bad, since your house is up on a hill. There was also this part where we were walking around the city to scavenge stuff. And we were talking to neighbors and helping out. We went in this one dudes basement to drink beer with him.
I don’t remember a lot of the details anymore, nor is it the only flood dream that I’ve ever had. But it’s interesting nonetheless. Think we’re tapping into some kind of pattern here or is this all pretty much hogwash?

I have found lately that I have been able to find traces of my dreams I have actually experienced lately or I have been thinking about. Just curious had you seen The Day After Tomorrow before the dream? It doesn’t have to be as obvious as that it might be anything to do with water, maybe a large amount of it, I dunno. It might be tied in with you thinking about a certain point of Seattle also.

Well Jesus says to not fear and not doubt, so there’s half of the answer. And also to repent of your sins, and not do anymore evil. I’d say that’s enough to change any bad things that were going to happen into something good and better. Anyways, you know how it is, there are all kinds of false prophets out there. Even so, when everyone is doing good again, the warnings have been heeded and the disasters are out of the way.

The interesting thing is Robertson’s worldview: G-d lethally zapping people (individual leaders, such as Ariel Sharon, or whole populations). Divine retribution.
I mean, what kind of loving god is that? This is really just cookie-cutter imperial patriarchy, big daddy love you but if you displease him he gonna kill you but only for your own good. Apparently, G-d is an abusive alcoholic parent.
I know this is not a particularly profound observation, but the further I get from that mindset the more it amazes me that people believe in and take comfort in that shit.

“17 And it shall come to pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take avengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine indignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not.”
It’s a two way street in other words. G-d is lethal, depending on where you stand.

I like how Robertson hedges his bets with “If I heard the Lord right…” Fundamentalists like Robertson are really caught up in the idea that a literal reading of the Bible is absolutely and obviously true yet Robertson could possibly misinterpret a message he claims came directly from God. It also reminds me of the movie Escape from L.A. where a religious leader predicts correctly a disaster hitting the west coast and then gets elected president. Roberston ‘08? Also why did you stop letting people post anoymously?
May 19th, 2006 at 11:41 am
I noticed. “If I heard the Lord right…”
That doesn’t seem very promising. So I kinda figured that either this is a false prophet or someone who is allowing us repairs. Cawn’t say piercingly as it is very tough to pierce correctly. How COULD you misinterpret a message from G-d….unless you aren’t really a prophet? Wow. This one is tough to spear hahahah. It’s a schtick hard to tell where the bottom or the top of it is. I guess life gets confusing in the end times.
Anyway, G-d said He wasn’t going to flood the world this time. Hey hey hey. Hahahahahahahaha. He’s going to BURN IT! Darn. No escape. EXIT or EXIST, from the standpoint of view of the froward no doubt. There’s no escape. I sure hope I can keep my diligence up to make it through. I know I can…yes I can, I can, I can said the little red train….yes I can, and so can YOU!

bring it on! we’ll fight the tsunami there so we don’t have to fight it here! hoorah!
thank goodness our neighborhood is pretty high over the water level– we should be okay.
i think pat robertson does talk to god– i think he talks to the demiurge, the false god. the demiurge is just fucking with him. even the demiurge doesn’t take robertson seriously anymore.

p.s. scott– we’re *miles* from r’lyeh. i’m more concerned about nyarlathotep, the crawling chaos, herald of the great blind god of the abyss, the daemon-sultan azathoth.

Well, I’ve already given you my take on this. The Robertson thing is kinda freaky…but if anything,it’s reassuring- has he EVER made a correct prediction of doom?

We have a whole topic on our forum about the Tsunami scenerio. There is a comet, the Schwassman-Wachmann comet. It passed us a few days ago. Problem is, it broke apart back in 96, and no one knows how many truck sized fragments are following it. We pass through its main tail area on the 25th of May. Check the details at http://wachadoo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=466.

Hmm, I had a dream the city of Portland Maine was hit by a gigantic wave a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t think much about it at the time because I woke up from the dream and I had to go pee really bad. But the southern coast of Maine and other places in New England had some bad flooding recently. I also had a dream I found a dead bird in my mom’s yard and the next day I found a dead bird almost in the same exact spot it was in my dream.
Something is a stirring- yes sir and I pray to Neptune that he doesn’t do anything to the city of Seattle.
May 19th, 2006 at 4:50 pm
Hmmm… Tim seems to have developed quite a following in Seattle after having moved there.
Not that I wish anything bad upon the fine citizens of Seattle… But I sure as heck don’t want anything coming the way of New England. Or should I say, anything more. Being as I live in Boston and all.

Is Western North America being Targeted by Scalar Weapons?
Article posted in late March on weatherwars.info; The author is a little esoteric for my taste, but there’s enough in there (that article, and the whole website) to be interesting.
(There’s a long preface, the article begins about halfway down the page.)

I’ve noticed the Pacific NW getting quite a bit of news in the media recently…from that ridiculous tsunami prediction to a supposed housing market boom in Eastern Washington and Seattle being the best vacation spot for the summer, etc. Not sure what’s up with that.
Feels like something is stirring up here though; tensions are pretty high, stabbings/shootings are up (recent downtown stabbings and a shooting that took place in the University District earlier this week). Just a very destructive cloud hanging over certain people who were never fully there to begin with, not sure what’s going on with that!

At any time people can pick a spot and focus on the negative there. If the “crazed dangerous illegal aliens from Mexico’ theory doesn’t pan out, Bush can claim to be able to save us from the evil, yet imaginary Tsunami. Like you said in your earlier post about the Mexican border, I’d rather pick my own fears than have someone tell me what I’m afraid of.

That FEMA exercise worries me. Like you said, we all know what happens when the Feds conduct an “exercise.”

hey tim, you have ran prieurs site listed as a link but just in case you forgot the novel he wrote, one of the main scenes in it is when san francisco is struck by a man made tsunami which occurs in two waves. The importance of it being man made was so the government could implement one of their egineered plagues and quaruntine the city. I thought that to be interesting you know how a writer writes a book about some event and then it actually happens. I thought this would kind of tie in with your whole dreams, robertson, fema, collective thing.

Ditto what Kylark said about ‘exercising’.
Meanwhile fyi :
Genesis of the Earthquake Bomb - 1940
Ltd engineer Dr Barnes Wallis had anticipated the need to destroy targets of this type (buried Nazi Bunkers) and proposed the use of an ‘earthquake’ bomb in his engineering study: A Note on a Method of Attacking the Axis Powers. In sixty pages of text, fifty pages of tables and appendix, Wallis made his case for building extra large earth penetrating bombs as a means of bombing massive, oversized, deeply buried or extra hardened targets by transferring the maximum kinetic energy of the explosive into the relatively incompressible earth. The bomb Wallis had in mind weighed 10 tons and would be dropped from 40,000 ft. Impacting the earth at supersonic speed and driven as much as 130 feet underground, the detonation would form a camoflet and not even crater the surface. The earthquake like pressure wave could …blah blah..
Shortcut .. they were concerned about the quakes that could arise from this kind of ‘earth’ assault and trigger possible damage to areas they wanted to protect.
Also they didn’t have the kind of airvehicles it would take to transport a weapon of this size. This was in 1940 -1942
And now they have pulse, scalar, electromagnetic, etc. All of which are capable of introducing strong pulsations, standing waves or ripples through the earth or water.
You just never know. But with the level of outright evil afoot these days-you can make a pretty good educated guess.

Pat, that’s funny, I was just wondering if anyone had written a fictional scenario in which a western US city is inundated. This would lend credibility to the Seattle tsunami warnings, since art foreshadows life.
One neat effect of repeated warnings, however, is that concentrated psychic energy may avert the disaster. Remember when they were doing nuke exercises on the southern Atlantic coast last year? A lot of people were on to the rumors of disaster. The disaster didn’t come, possibly because enough people were paying attention.
However, the nuke exercises were followed in short order by Hurricane Katrina. So maybe the combined energies of thousands of people paying attention would merely divert disaster somewhere else. Earthquakes in the Midwest, anyone?

G-d is an abusive alcoholic parent……apparently. love that. it`s always been my contention that if people and peoples believe things they eventually come true. plagues, floods, armeggedon. they are contained in the hearts of men.
i believe, in my own little universe that i do good work and my reputation builds so that i can earn enough to provide for my family. religion and politics tire me because they steal our personal dreams and fill our minds and hearts with too many horrid images that, if held in faith, will come true.
the god of plagues, pestilence, chaos, armeggedon, tsunamis, etc. is the god we want to have. so is gwb. we go looking for answers, which is natural……..but maybe we need to get some better questions.

I was just trying to figure out what up with the dream I had this morning when I popped on here and saw this thread. My dream didn’t involve a tsunami exactly, but in it I was visiting some friends of mine, both of whom are very psychic, and one of them was very very concerned about shutting all the doors and staying inside because a massive storm was coming. Since she is notorious for accurately predicting weather, I took her seriously, and sure enough the rains came quickly, as we frantically sealed up the house. They in fact were coming from the west. Since this took place in Montana, not right on the coast it would make sense not to dream of a tsunami per se. But would a tsunami on the west coast have a serious effect on weather, in the west, but further inland?
Another thought. Any signs of strange mass animal behavior showing up in the news lately? In my dream the pets were all acting very hyper too, and I’ve heard of that kind of odd behavior in animals preceding earthquakes and the like.

NOVA just presented a show called “Mystery of the Megafloods.” It explained that Washington State has been wracked by numerous Cataclysmic Megalfloods throughout its geological history. In fact they are supposedly quite usual. Recall that Mount St. Helen is also in Washington.
Interesting Timing for the release of this show in light of the information we have uncovered here.

I am sick and on the couch in front of the Tube and another movie comes on. “10.5″ is about a Cataclysmic Earthquake that hits Seattle. This is getting really strange. Social Conditioning anyone?

It was a dream of swimming for my life that lead me to the knowledge of a comit, then from the comit to Eric Julian’s prediction, after that the rest is evidence that has been collected all over the place. The facts are adding up quick… let’s hope this prediction is very, very wrong.

[…] In case you’ve forgotten, or simply don’t follow strange internet predictions, today is May 25th. This is supposed to be the day of the big “Mega-Tsunami” that is supposed to smash up the Pacific Coast of the United States. Other reports point the approaching tsunami towards the Atlantic. There’s actually an interesting news item on Aljazeera.net about how these rumors apparently sparked a huge panic in Morocco: A website warning of a tsunami has spread panic in Morocco, despite the government’s assertion that the alert was merely rumour - and the dubious nature of its source. […]
