Bicycling Atomic Robot
I just had a dream about this robot that either my dad made or discovered. He was originally using it, I think, to help him hang Christmas lights over the edge of this store or small shopping center he owned (in the dream, not in real life). But then for some reason the robot got hold of this bicycle. Which is strange because the robot, as far as I remember, had no real body to speak of, other than a small silver box which housed it’s intelligence center. Anyway, the robot became very intelligent very rapidly, and began pedalling around the parking lot with my dad chasing it and not catching it.
From there, the dream stopped being totally ridiculous and became more bizarre and sinister. I switched to a different viewpoint character, some young guy in the middle of the country. And he was tracking news of this same robot as it pedalled across the country. For whatever reason, with it’s vast intelligence it was headed straight for some secret underground government facility where it was about to initiate launch codes for a dozen or more inter-continental missiles with atomic warheads aimed all around the globe and country. This guy was freaking out because he seemed to be the only one who noticed what was happening (maybe because he’d interacted with the robot firsthand, not sure) and the news wasn’t reporting it. The whole thing was also loosely overlaid against the plotline of Terminator 3.
Needless to say, there have been a lot of strange things going on in my mind lately…

You’re lucky. Sinister as that might be, half the time these days I come home from work only to fall assleap and dream about work.
