FeedBurner Nixed

A quick technical update: I have turned off my WordPress plugin that was redirecting my RSS feed to a FeedBurner URI. I couldn’t get them to be totally synced up with my latest posts, which probably means that RSS subscribers have been not seeing newer posts for the past day or so.

Oh well. I guess it doesn’t especially matter anyway. It was nice seeing that I had around 200 RSS subscribers in that 24 hour period, but knowing that information doesn’t really enable me to do anything neat at this point. So I’m just going to revert back to my regular RSS feed for the time being.

UPDATE!

Wait, now it looks like it’s working. Goddammit… Will somebody please tell me if they’re seeing this in their feed reader?

    Hey Tim,

Eric from the FeedBurner team here. Just wanted to touch base with you on your WP plugin issue. I use WP to publish my blog and podcast and I also use the plugin. I would be happy to take a look at what you have done to see if I can figure out why you are having issues. Shoot me a note and we’ll go from there. We’ll get it fixed. :-) Talk soon!

    Cheers,
    Eric

Tim, I wrote an article on how to fix this. Basically, the bug happened because the FeedBurner validator is not named “FeedBurner” any more, so the wordpress redirector gets confused. Fixing it is quite simple once you know the cause.

Step by step instuctions are here:
