Updated Reviews & More
Just a quick note, as I don’t have time for anything more substantial at the moment… I posted two new media reviews over at Pop Occulture Magazine, one of which is for the new Scanner Darkly (blech!) movie. (Also check out what turned out to be a very controversial book review that I recently wrote.)
If you’ve seen any good (or bad) movies lately, or come across any books or music that you would like to review, I would love to include your work in the magazine. Check out the submissions page for details. I’m really looking forward to developing that site into a forum for diverse voices and approaches to the types of subjects we cover here.
There are also some new posts at Conspiracy Fiction & Pop Culture Tarot that you may enjoy, and don’t forget to submit freaky ghost stories and other strange happenings to Traces from Beyond. And while you’re at it, hell, go all out and add me as a friend on MySpace!
In any event, I am about to get on a plane in a few short hours and head back to Seattle for Round 2. It has been an excellent and exhausting (and goddamned hot) month here on the East Coast. I’m glad I did it and I’m also glad I’m going back. Sorry if I wasn’t able to see everyone that I wanted to while I was out here, but things have been crazy for me lately. Hopefully they will be settling down as I get into a new apartment, maybe a new job and get back into the semblance of an ordinary routine, even if I do not have the most ordinary life.

You (meaning Tim Boucher) really are a good writer, you should get paid for this stuff, it is a hell of a lot more intelligent than the typical shit that comes out of most colmunist asshole/mouths. The left wing isn’t perfect, but at least they are not as fooking crazy as the right. I used to say left and right was all relative, but no seriously for every scary person on the left, there has to be 3.5 crazy people ommmmm on the right. NYT should consider hiring you and firing that banal David Brooks. I mean seriously. I am going to eat a yummy egg sandwich, sorry lil’ unborn chicken.

i agree w/gnomely about david brooks. every time i see his column i wonder why that dude is paid to write nothing but crap. anyhow, i love your site. i’m more of a lurker than anything else, but i do read it every day. and i feel the same way you do about linklater and his floaty animation - really distracting….anyway, tim… maybe you can give me some advice on cool seattle neighborhoods in which to live. me and my significant other will be relocating in late august. cheers.

Tim-
What about reviewing older movies that have been out for years? (as in, “Will you accept a review of a movie that came out in 1983?”) is that cool?
take it easy!

Tim, really…this is a great site - you do write so well (as do so many contributors)and it’s all a pleasure to read. I too lurk, but thanks for making a great spot to sift, grow and dig the metaphor farms.
“Ordinary” lives are for ordinary people. It sounds like something completely different might be a better albeit more challenging path after all.

It was good to see you here in town - maybe next time we can come to Seattle or when you come here we can get fall down loaded and you can scare everyone with how retarded you are.

Haha. Everyone here knows how retarded I am, don’t worry. But yeah, definitely come on out here Bret. Probably after August would be better for me though as I will have my own place to put you up, but even before then might be okay too cause you could just crash here at my friends’…
Nico, I will email you about neighborhoods!
