Alex Jones & the Old World Order

Recently found a really interesting post on a blog called Doctrine Wars which seems to open up a whole new dimension to conspiracy radio personality Alex Jones. The article points out that Alex Jones is listed as an honorary member of a group called RSICC: the Remnant Saints Inter-Continental Congress. On the main page of their website they feature a photograph of Earth from Space and the words:

One Common Planet
Freedom and Responsibility
One World Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for All
Remnant Saints Inter-Continental Congress

The site seems to be part of a larger group called the Remnant Saints, who seem to be intent on making plans for what happens “following the calamities of the current system” - ie, the collapse of our current order. There are seem to be extensive ties to the Church of Latter Day Saints - the Mormon Church. (Doctrine Wars also offers some additional information in this area in their original report)

From the RSICC mission page:

We seek to present to the world a godly alternative to the U.N.-based drive for world socialist government. By the grace and inspiration of God, we aim to set forth an international government based on freedom and virtue. We vow to serve faithfully, courageously, and humbly as its nascent representatives.

Now, it ought to be pointed out that Alex Jones is not an official member of this group, and his honorary status may well have been awarded him without either his knowledge or approval. In either event, here seems to be a copy of their voting rolls which brought him this honorable title. Popular mind control victim Cathy O’Brien is also listed as an honorary member of this group. What this says about either person is of course debateable. But it does open up a lot of interesting questions, I think, about who the people are and what their background is who are involved in the conspiracy theory movement. Specifically, those who oppose the so-called New World Order: what do they have in mind instead, an Old World Order? A world order run by somebody else they like better? Maybe it’s as simple as that old saying: the enemy of my enemy is my friend…

If anybody can track down more information on Alex Jones involvement or non-involvement within this group, I would be interested in hearing it.

I reckon this is the most likely explanation, but it’s interesting anyway…

I don’t have strong feelings about Alex Jones one way or another but I suspect that this sort of ‘revelation’ could have as much to do with the spread of disinformation & suspicion, if not plain ol’ parasitism, as any real relationship he might have with the aforementioned group. The fact that it is an ‘honorary’ designation puts up something of a red flag for me. With the high profile that Mr. Jones enjoys among the internet conspiracy types, I imagine that this group could gain alot more recognition & search engine hits just by piggybacking on his name & notoriety. In such a fluid & inherently occult (obscure) medium as the internet, it is very easy for people to become associated with groups they may or may not have any true affiliation with. In my mind this is similar to the fact that listing a link on your blogroll doesn’t necessarily mean that you endorse all that is said on that site…
