I love the Google ad that's being displayed at the top of this post:

What Type of Mom Are You?
15 fun questions that will show you what type of mom you really are!

I wonder if their questions are like:

1. When you ritually abuse your children, do you dress up like the devil or like a witch?
2. When you sacrifice to the Dark Lord, do you prefer to use virginal teens or innocent babies?

Satan is a sensational topic, not only in the Red States but the Blue Ones as well.

Right, cause even people who don't consider themselves Christian still have the leftover patterning of Christian mythology inside them. You don't have to be Christian to believe in evil. And even if you don't believe in it personified, you get a cheap thrill considering that some people do, and would also worship it.

focused on a child-sex-slave-blackmail network that exists in this country, it would still induce hysteria but of a different kind.

Right, that's what I meant when I said that it was the hook to catch people outside of the Christian myth-orbit, the modernists or secular humanists - because it catches both human rights which is an ideal and simple natural parental protectiveness: a biological instinct.

It seems to me just too expertly loaded to work as a cultural bomb to be coincidental.

Also interesting is that in the book's introduction, Constantine writes about how the alien myth has been promoted as cover for mind control experiments:

The "Alien" Invasion - a very active cover story for the development of mind control technology. Supposedly (as those weird syndicated UFO programs keep reminding us) alien scientists have voyaged millions of light years to place CIA implants in the bodies of human subjects. This incredible cover story is widely believed - yet most "skeptics" scoff at the notion that human scientists might want to do the same thing.

It's like he recognizes that aliens are a smokescreen for one covert op, but simultaneously reinforces the CIA-Satanism-Pedophilia link which may very well be acting in the exact same way as a smokescreen for something entirely different, which simply can't be dissected through the layers of emotional BS injected in it.

From my understanding of what I've read in my collections of conspiracy lit, the Satanism is a front for more nefarious goings-on, the pedophilia is for blackmailing politicians and world leaders, and the CIA doesn't directly fund such activity-- rogue agents and former CIA spooks (or fringe groups like The Finders) are called in for that.

No one ever gets past the Satanism. The minute you bring up Satanism, the issue is reduced to ridiculous paranoia. Remember the McMartin pre-school trials? Or Geraldo's "expose" on Satanism in the 80s? Satan is a sensational topic, not only in the Red States but the Blue Ones as well.

If the conspiracy hounds lost the Satanism and focused on a child-sex-slave-blackmail network that exists in this country, it would still induce hysteria but of a different kind. This time, parents would be concerned, not just "religious wackos".

What's interesting is the strange bedfellows these types of CTs attract: Born Again Christians with Left-wing Bush haters, Anarchic atheists teaming with fundamentalist purists...
