Stand By

Today is my day off, and I’ve been catching up on the comments and conversations that have developed here over the course of the past week. I’m off to a slow start this morning though so I may need to go score some Indian food before I can really find the wherewithal to come back and write down all of my latest thoughts. In particular, I want to continue onward with the subject of an ecological understanding of the self, as well as applying some of those concepts to religion & ideology. In particular, I have some thoughts about adapting towards particular niches, and “invasive species” as they apply to religion.

Anyway, more in a little while. I’m also doing some interesting and some light reading right now. The interesting is “Al Qaeda and What It Means to Be Modern” by John Gray - which turns out to espouse (as far as I’m concerned) almost the exact same premise as I have been using in my recent work about the “technocratic conspiracy”, except he uses the term “modern” instead of technocracy and he hasn’t delved into anything conspiratorial so far. Which makes it an interesting parallel read to see how that can be done. It’s a very quick read and I will post a more elaborate review of it soon, hopefully. I’m also reading a book that a co-worker lent me about that Skinwalker Ranch place in Utah, which I guess she also visited. The book isn’t especially good, but it’s a nice easy read for when I am too tired on the bus to do much of anything else.

I also have two podcasts in the works, one of which I may be able to post later today if all goes well. As somebody said in comments recently, I am not a jukebox, but if you have any ideas for subjects you would like to hear me address in podcasts, feel free to drop me a line. Also, if you have music online that you think might be a good fit for use in my podcasts, please let me know. I really want to be able to promote other artists and creative people wherever possible!

Hey Tim, since u asked: http://www.myspace.com/howlingmindglide

On the skinwalker ranch link, i found the following:

The ability to shape-shift is something many people would sell their souls for, but that does not make it evil, anymore than the ability to play guitar is evil.

Heheheheh….so must u sell your soul to play guitar?

John Gray is awesome! BTW — all night full-lotus data entry marathon was a resounding success!

For radical politic news here’s what I recommend:

And have you read http://sinisterforces.info yet? That 3 volume trilogy by Peter Levenda is a must-read for your blog topic. The connector for all these websites is Kris Millegan, publisher of Trineday Press.

The existence of Technocracy seems implicit in the Positivist program. (I also enjoyed that book and have recommended it to many people.)

Positivism IS technocracy as far as I can tell. I’m going to have more posts from that book soon as it dovetails perfectly with so many things we’ve discussed
