First of a multi-part podcast (maybe 2-3 episodes?) devoted to the subjects of religion and belief. This episode makes use of some ecological metaphors to help put into perspective why we have belief systems in the first place: because they enable us to adapt to a unique set of conditions. When they no longer effectively serve that function though, what do we do? I also look at bit at native vs. invasive species, making use of some of my recent gardening & landscaping experience to paint these subjects into a somewhat more concrete light than usual. I’m very excited about the direction these podcasts are starting to go and I hope you are too!
PS. For those of you who can’t access them due to not having broadband connections, help is on the way. I a looking into options which will allow me to put these onto CD compilations and sell for a nominal fee to cover production and shipping. Anyone with any experience in using online services to do this is invited to contact me with recommendations!

Lulu.com and Cafepress.com both do CDs on demand. Or you could take orders in advance, so you know how many you’re gonna sell, and have a bunch printed somewhere cheaper, maybe locally, but where minimum orders are required. You’d have to factor in postage then, too.
