Podcast 04: Calling
The latest installment of my podcast series. It departs a bit from the format and subject matter of previous episodes to delve into some more personalized stuff regarding my own struggles spiritually - if you want to call it that. I’m trying to reach a balance with these podcasts where I am not just duplicating my written stuff into a spoken format. Because why transition into audio at all if that’s what I’m doing? So I’m sort of casting about for the right approach with these, and trying to find a way to have them include elements and personal texture that my writing simply can’t capture. I hope it’s successful and I hope that the contents of it have as much meaning to others as they do to me!
PS. I will return to the “Beyond Belief” series possibly in the next installment. I just wanted to take a little breather from that and have a chance to re-focus what I’m doing here and why!
- Podcast 05: Beyond Belief, Pt 2 - The Power of Questions
- Podcast 02: Ah, To Be A Caveman Again…
- Podcast 11: Express Yourself
- Podcast 06: Self-Destructing Ideology
- Podcast: The Cloud of Words
- Prev: Jesus: “Don’t write this down!”
- Next: Kill Your Idols!

Mm, ha ha , The soundtrack to last Temptation is really cool, I could almost hear it in the background when you were talking about that.
Have you ever gone to a pretty much black church , and gone to a service.? These things can last for 3 hours , and the experience can be overwhelmingly intense.
There is usually a lot of music , and a whole lot of people go up for some intense laying on of hands , shouting about some things etc.
If you have not had this experience I suggest it.
Go by yourself ,
I assume you are a white guy , and you may be the only white guy there.
You may not agree with the message completely that is said , but I guarantee that there will be a stream of tears that end up going down your face.
These people are trying just as hard as they can to find meaning.
Fact is that is what we are all doing. Meaning , Purpose, and Beauty.
I will bet you that this experience will be unlike any other, and it will be a very good and enlightening thing.

Funny, I was thinking about something similar today. I’m afraid to say I may not be ballsy enough to do something like this…

Do it any way. I did last Sunday , and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I met a whole lot of people that are confoundedly trying to find meaning.. and I gotta say it was super cool.
The organ player invited me back when I met him later , and I said I found myself mentally jamming with my guitar at the beginning part. He asked if I played , I said yes, and he asked me to bring my guitar and plug in for next time.
I am not sure yet if I am going to , but this experience was very valuable.
I just may, even though I am on a different wavelength somewhat , who the hell isn`t on a different wave length.?
I found I have a lot in common with the people there. The church is called ,
The end times Church , Ha.~!~

Skip, this whole episode really shatters my pre-conceived notions about you, which I am glad for!
Zac, thanks! If only I knew what comes next. One step at a time though I guess

my favorite part of what we do is not knowing what comes next. doesn’t always happen, but often enough.
