It’s All Happening!

Another quote from the Skinwalker Ranch book I just finished. He is talking about the many worlds or multiverse hypothesis as an explanation for the diverse range of strange phenomena which occurred at the ranch. I thought this was a good follow-up to some of the subjects I discussed in my second podcast episode. This comes from page 278 of the Skinwalker book:

If the universe is truly infinite, and an infinite number of other realities consisting of parallel dimensions and alternate universes are real, then everything that could happen is happening somewhere.

And page 280:

“Space appears to be infinite in size,” writes Max Tegmark. “If so then somewhere, everything that is possible becomes real, no matter how improbable it is.”

I thought that would be a good setting in which to continue a discussion from a recent post I did on an alternate universe dream I had. In that thread, “Darkshadow” writes in the comments:

A different universe, and I knew the history leading up to where I was (I think, though, that it was a “current” event rather than history I was in). I was looking through somebody else’s eyes (or, rather, I just knew it wasn’t me in the dream, but someone else I was sharing space with).

Short synopsis of the dream: The government there (different than ours) had decided to rescind the rights of anyone under the age of 30. Some years before the time I was in the dream. The people under that age rebelled, and a war was going on because of it.

The most fascinating thing about the dream, to me, was that I could also follow the person’s thoughts as well as see what was going on. And he thought differently than I do. I don’t really think I can explain that very well. The way he thought about things, the way he filtered what was going on to experience, is very different than the way I do. It actually gave me a headache thinking about that part of the dream after I woke up (though I had no problem with it while I was dreaming).

This is one of my favorite subjects, so I thought I would just try to keep the ball rolling on it. On that note, also check out the excellent quotes from Terence McKenna on dual worlds as collected by Gyrus from the excellent site Dreamflesh.

To me, the whole idea of “manifestation of intent” (as consciously introduced to me this past year through blogs adjacent to this one) fits in perfectly with the idea of infinite universes, infinite possibility, etc. Are we going to be a piece of debris blown around by these infinite winds of possibility, or are we going to harness our sail and set course toward the direction we desire?

I find myself becoming increasingly drawn to the idea that we can “steer” our intent at every passing moment onto (or at least toward) the reality we’re seeking. Every breath, every step, and every moment’s thought is entirely sanctified somehow, when looked at this way (in my experience). To my ears, Zac’s podcasts speak volumes about this idea.

I forgot to mention the McKenna dual world thing - maybe I assumed you’d seen it. Anyway, it’s a great yarn.

Just remembered a striking “alternate world” dream I had when I was in the States last year (oddly, given my usual dreaming, I only had 2 remembered dreams during my 6 week stay there). Anyway, this was an unusual dream in that there really wasn’t much at all in the way of visual or verbal content. It was just knowledge that I woke up with.

The knowledge was that back in Africa, proto-hominid apes had (as McKenna supposes) ingested some kind of hallucinogen. Only, one of them had ingested way more than anyone else, or had found a super-potent variety. Their consciousness had fragmented into multiple nodes, experiencing itself as multiple creatures - us. Everything from that point on - all of our history, and most of our prehistory - is, in fact, one proto-hominid’s many-levelled hallucination. From which they’ll eventually come down, I guess.

My first thought on thinking about this when I woke up was, is there really a hallucinogen that powerful? Then I realised, even if there isn’t in this world, this world is a hallucination. In the “real” world, where our common self is tripping his nuts off, who knows what crazy plants exist?

Interesting resonances with the Hindu conceptions as laid out by Alan Watts - God’s singular consciousness veiling itself behind multiple subjects in his creation. Only our common God-self is a stoned ape :-)

    Interesting dream, Gyrus.

Think that would explain “Planet of the Apes” ? ;)

    a stoned ape……..sure, why not.

alan watts is a gem. so much humour and powerful intent in one entity.

“manifestation of intent.” it happens when you begin to…………………….
