"when you're outside of the categories of perception, time and space, then it's endless; no time passes, no matter how long you wait. and it can be infinite bliss or infinite tormet, according to your relationship with it."

I forgot to mention the McKenna dual world thing - maybe I assumed you'd seen it. Anyway, it's a great yarn.

Just remembered a striking "alternate world" dream I had when I was in the States last year (oddly, given my usual dreaming, I only had 2 remembered dreams during my 6 week stay there). Anyway, this was an unusual dream in that there really wasn't much at all in the way of visual or verbal content. It was just knowledge that I woke up with.

The knowledge was that back in Africa, proto-hominid apes had (as McKenna supposes) ingested some kind of hallucinogen. Only, one of them had ingested way more than anyone else, or had found a super-potent variety. Their consciousness had fragmented into multiple nodes, experiencing itself as multiple creatures - us. Everything from that point on - all of our history, and most of our prehistory - is, in fact, one proto-hominid's many-levelled hallucination. From which they'll eventually come down, I guess.

My first thought on thinking about this when I woke up was, is there really a hallucinogen that powerful? Then I realised, even if there isn't in this world, this world is a hallucination. In the "real" world, where our common self is tripping his nuts off, who knows what crazy plants exist?

Interesting resonances with the Hindu conceptions as laid out by Alan Watts - God's singular consciousness veiling itself behind multiple subjects in his creation. Only our common God-self is a stoned ape :-)

To me, the whole idea of "manifestation of intent" (as consciously introduced to me this past year through blogs adjacent to this one) fits in perfectly with the idea of infinite universes, infinite possibility, etc. Are we going to be a piece of debris blown around by these infinite winds of possibility, or are we going to harness our sail and set course toward the direction we desire?

I find myself becoming increasingly drawn to the idea that we can "steer" our intent at every passing moment onto (or at least toward) the reality we're seeking. Every breath, every step, and every moment's thought is entirely sanctified somehow, when looked at this way (in my experience). To my ears, Zac's podcasts speak volumes about this idea.
