(And Get Away With It!)

In this episode, I weave together many weird strands of myth and speculation related to twins, doubles, dopplegangers, the djinn, tulpas, Philip K. Dick, Fight Club, Jesus, Elvis, Paul McCartney, Alice in Wonderland, fairytales, the Apocalypse, Twin Peaks, Zoroastrianism, astral travel, gnosticism, Crowley’s Holy Guardian Angel, Jung’s shadow, alchemy - and well, if that’s not enough for you then I don’t know what is.
More succintly, this episode explores whether or not each of us has an “evil twin” and what do about it. Maybe buried somewhere in the rubble of this episode is some kind of truth, or if nothing else possibly some useful psychological tools to explore your own dark side and integrate it more fruitfully into your life. Beats me - I only work here!

Framing it like Dick does here, perhaps we could say that the “self” that we normally identify ourselves with is in fact our “evil twin” and the higher self is the *real* us. So the higher self either has to kill, convert, etc the evil twin lower self…?
John 15:12-13, “This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”
And also from him:

[...] I’ve been listening to the Replacements a lot lately and I didn’t actually know who Westerberg was when I clicked on that news story. Earlier this year he re-united with his band The Replacements to put out a retrospective called “Don’t You Know Who I Think I Was?†I didn’t know this either, but the title of the retrospective – and even the name of the band itself – is fitting into a larger pattern I am plugging into in my life lately: twins, doubles, erasing your identity, etc. [...]
[...] Saddam Hussein did the exact same thing, even all the way down to making it totally concrete with having numerous known body doubles. [...]
[...] This is a little bit like what I talked about way back when with regards to the whole evil twin thing. But not completely. [...]
