I eagerly await the day when a swarm of these robots (made by WowWee - inventors of the Robosapien) chases me to my own grisly death…

Found via one of the many blogs devoted to slobbering over technical inventions without consideration for where these things ultimately lead us simply beyond looking at them as “cool toys.”

Clearly this technology is designed to acclimate us to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles patrolling our streets and lives. Don’t believe me? Think I’m being dramatic? Check out the Los Angeles Sheriff department’s efforts to get UAV’s into active duty over US skies. And don’t forget the military is strongly behind creating robotic insects. And also:

Israel is using nanotechnology to try to create a robot no bigger than a hornet that would be able to chase, photograph and kill its targets, an Israeli newspaper reported.

YAY TECHNOLOGY!!!!!! Science is sooooo going to save us! w00t!
