[...] Of course the “Self” as we know it is a trick. A media event. A viral marketing scheme wrought by culture onto the mammalian nervous system. I saw a dog wearing a raincoat the other day. The owner crossed the street anxiously ahead of us as we giggled at the cultural projections he’s trying to imprint upon his dog’s nervous system. The dog doesn’t care, but he did. You could see in his eyes that he knew what he did was wrong but that he enjoyed it. Enjoyed oppressing the dog with his faulty communication, projecting his own faulty imprints onto external forms. You can never find your “self.” All you will find is a triangle of uncertainty, an alliance of lions. [...]

structure is what the artist craves, yet rebels against with every fibre of his body/soul.

this struggle is what makes us run.

that`s why i like jackson pollock so much. he got out of his own way enough to communicate what was going on outside of the word trap that we exist in.

synchronicity.

this morning i woke up to thinking about leopard print gloves. a woman in starbucks wears them all the time and i instantly thought of her.

i went to starbucks after work and stopped to get a bagel at the bakery and behind the counter lay a pair of leopard print gloves.

i knew instantly they were hers. i had the spidey senses going.

minutes later i walked into starbucks and she was there sitting with two friends, one of which had a pair of the same gloves on.

i said to her that she was going to think this was odd but i woke up thinking of leopard print gloves and that i knew precisely where her`s were.

she didn`t realise hers were missing until i told her where they were.

i have gotten used to coincedance over the years.

i wonder what she thought of the whole thing.

hi alistair

<blockquote>humans are a funny mixture of right and left brained approaches to experience.
</blockquote>

i love my AI ... after all, we do need some kind of structural framwork to bring creative inspiration into form, yes? like the homoplasmate needs a host....or something ? the chalice for the fire?

holding our breath underwater ... hmmm.....breath...pneuma.... :
"In the Gospel of John, pneuma is linked to re-birth in water and spirit, which has been suggested to be baptism."

pneuma...word...logos....sun...: "For the Stoics, the <a href="http://www.bizcharts.com/stoa_del_sol/index.html" rel="nofollow">Logos and the Natural Order is One</a>--a world soul in progress"

"the Logos represents the <a href="http://www.bizcharts.com/stoa_del_sol/logos/logos_2.html" rel="nofollow">heart of the cosmic pattern</a> and the source of existence, its emblem is the sun, the source of life and light."

"I am...becoming more inclined towards thinking of the Logos as the "Meme of all memes" or as "Code." ... in terms of the Collective rather than the individual ... <a href="http://www.bizcharts.com/stoa_del_sol/logostalk/intuition.html" rel="nofollow">So how does the Logos speak to us individually? Historically and from my own personal experience, I've nailed it down to two ways: through dreams and outside events--especially synchronistic events</a>."

sun.... leo....lion....aslan!

.... We "know" the Logos exists, because it works within and through us. And that's why it is so *important* to begin to integrate our experiential knowledge with our empirical knowledge, because the Logos is not one over the other. <a href="http://www.bizcharts.com/stoa_del_sol/logos/logos_7.html" rel="nofollow">The Logos, to be the Great Unity, is present both subjectively and objectively-- and certainly begs for synthesis</a>."

Bruce Moen describes what our minds do when exploring dreamlike metaphysical realms: "in a sense the Interpreter [memorizer,"left" brain] acts as a translator, continuously and automatically bringing the Perceiver [observer, "right" brain]'s information into conscious awareness in an understandable, though not always accurate, form" [due to it having to filter through our beliefs, language, and preexisting memories.]

"the problem with the Interpreter is that if you allow it to ramble on, it begins making associations with its own associations to the point that what you're talking to yourself about can get so far away from what you originally perceived that you have no idea that it all started with seeing a big orange CAT"

( wtf!? aslan again...? see, now that just "randomly" happened to be the example he used in the quote in the book that i looked up... )

the sungking is roaring.... happy Sunday!

This post is gonna be something like my decoder ring for your recent entries. Prior to this post, your writing had become inaccessible to me and I wasn't able to muster the energy to read it thoroughly, even though I found it highly enviable; the insights seem to be flooding in -- unfortunately they were mostly lost on me.

However, now I think I can tune into your frequency a bit clearer. Funnily enough, I was talking to a friend of mine about tuning into other people's frequencies so you can think like them when I first saw this update posted. Synchronicities abound.

liesl.....the conscious or left brain of the human animal tends to be artificial and dogmatic. whenever we intuitively heal we access the methods needed to facilitate the changes in our clients.

humans are a funny mixture of right and left brained approaches to experience.

when diving in water one naturally holds one`s breath to stop from inhaling water into our lungs.

i think i managed to hold my mind long enough to not inhale too much right-brained programming int my consciousness.

or something.............

I think I've just realised that all my cultural role-models growing up were subconscious. I used to say 'oh, I don't really have a role-model or a hero to look up to', or whatever. But now I keep running into them, and either I think 'I really admire them, with hindsight, they must have really influenced me', or (worse!) people say, 'that's you!' about some character in a retro movie. It's really beginning to scare the absolute crap out of me.

Don't know if you wanted to know that, but I felt a need to share.

Those tangible sequencer thingimajigs make me think of neurons which makes me think of electricity, which makes me think of the matrix and on and on.

I like this post. You should make a pdf of all your posts since you started the new style of writing, put this as a preface and put it up on torrent sites as "Triple X Rated MindPorn"

Also just for interest's sake this is what you <em>seemed</em> to be talking about to me:

direct apperception of reality unclouded by words or memories or thought associations of any kind

But like you said what you seem to be talking about isn't what you're talking about.

PS. Do you consider all words/thoughts (referents?) part of the AI mind you talk about? Like a new zen?

weird....I haven't read this entry yet, but just skimming through it and seeing the bjork video alongside "AI" is strange. I've been reading about Stanley Kubrick quite a bit lately and after I remembered that he was originally going to make/direct the film AI, I started wondering what Kubrick's take on the AI child might look like. I pretty much imagined something along the lines of the bjork robot (which I've always admired), but a little more human-looking. Then I found out that Chris Cunningham, the director of that video, was hired by Kubrick for the entire year of 1995 to go to the Kubrick estate and build "robot heads" for possible use in the upcoming-film-that-never-happened. I think it would be maybe 3 or 4 years later that the Bjork video popped up on MTV Europe.

In bodywork, I will often use triangulation to get at a spot that won't respond or is too deep to palpate directly, to get a release. That is, i will press 3 trigger points whose lines of force converge at the point that is buried. I "listen" with my hand, and use that touch information to feel for the correct points, without preconception as to where they might be. So, by speaking the language of the 3d myofascial web, you can bypass the faulty signals coming from nervous system ( which is what is keeping the pain mechanism in place ) and get the work done much more effectively. Which leads us to the "bodymind" concept, that to me has a direct correlation to the irrational world soul concept.

In radionic analysis, which uses gsr testing to find the frequencies used in a treatment, I have been humbled time and again to find that without engaging my mind, without knowing anything about a client, i can obtain accurate information regarding their issues. This is the same concept used in dowsing. It neccessarily bypasses the AI, which, because the information i get may appear to be unrelated and jumping all over the place, balks at this process, and keeps wanting to interfere, edit, collate, and create a meaning it can comprehend out of the data, but it never can because it's comprehension is severely limited ). I like to call this the difference between knowing and Gnowing. AI misses 90% of the message.

From using this nonlinear way of obtaining information instead, a pattern emerges which is far more complete, complex, and informative. This type of communication is also akin to the the cereal box divining boy in Lady in the Water. Purely linear thinkers may scoff and laugh at this, but i can assure you from years of practice, as can my clients, that it really works, and yields insights of far greater breadth and depth than deductive reasoning. It literally boggles the mind. This seems like what Tim is doing in his writing these days, and why I respond so well to it, being familar as I am with that territory:

<blockquote>I try not to filter too much what I use as reference points, because I am finding that there is a lot richer of a signal if I expend my effort trying to get out of its way as opposed to trying to actively control it.</blockquote>

Rock on, Tim!
p.s. on lions: I just keep thinking, "Aslan!" [grin]

When I went through my phase of trying to decipher published writings on Masonic symbolism, I basically came to the conclusion that whatever was said about a symbol was immediately /not/ the truth. So all you can say about a symbol is what it isn't quite. Clearly you can talk endlessly about a symbol without repeating yourself, then, rather like trying to prove the absence of certain dangerous things in certain sandy places... oooh, maybe that whole episode was a crazy esoteric clue.

<blockquote>I almost think that simply listing these reference points that I have been tracking lately though is not necessarily as interesting of a read. It’s definitely not as interesting to write</blockquote>
I get your point but I'm not just 'reading' your new style I'm watching/listening to/looking at it as well. That can have it's own rewards. The new style has been like the difference between a series of encyclopedia entries and opening an encyclopedia randomly and making connections. The new style requires more time to 'read' and time of a different quality. If you skim now you can't even pretend to get your meaning.

I usually feel like Khidir beneath Momouteh but if I take the time to remember Callimas at Bahar sometimes I become like Sokath, his eyes uncovered.
