heya speedbirdy!
you mean iron pyrite? yeah it makes some cool clusters. quarts shot with gold is pretty heady stuff too. i once had a dream where some indian guy told me all this stuff about gold veins in the earth and their esoteric function; i'd have to look way back in my dream journals to see what he said ....but the gold thing is fascinating. of all the metals it is supposed to be the one that has the "highest vibration" or whatever. and there's sitchin's gold mining lizzies, and the whole monatomic gold thing...wait! i just read something about this recently, let me find it:

"Someone who read that the Illuminati want us to ingest monoatomic gold because it prevents an increase in DNA strands and also primes us for mind control programming, wants your opinion of this.
MATTHEW: I’ll be happy to speak about this, but it is MUCH more than my opinion! The truth is exactly the opposite of that claim, and while that false information may have been passed on innocently, you can be sure that its originator knows gold’s place in human evolution—in highly evolved civilizations, gold is naturally an ingredient of their bodies because it is one of the most beneficial elements in the universe. As the microcosm of the universe that each of you is, this is how it applies to you: Gold enhances brain functioning and contributes to physiological stability through cellular regeneration. Throughout the eons of deterioration of human intelligence and the loss of knowledge that each life form started in the pure love essence of Creator and is a part of the Supreme Ruler of this universe, the use of gold went from health to wealth. It spiraled downward from its vital role in spiritual clarity and physical well being to its use as jewelry and other objects of opulence and eventually became the foundation for some economic systems. Gold also is an important part of higher civilizations’ technology. The earliest visitors to your planet went there precisely to look for gold, and upon discovering it, kept this a secret so they didn’t have to share their find with any other civilizations. "

hmmm, ok! how #1!
about shakespeare, i'd forgotten about that [ midsummer nights dream ] but yeah thanks, you just reminded me of this silly [ and pastoral ] little flower fairy poem i wrote in '98, which i will share since i am clearly not afraid to make a fool's gold of myself either:

THREE MUSES

blue maidens dance
among gracious green vines
curling tendril arms
intertwined

pink blossom lips
smile mysteries unuttered
white slippers whisper
purple gowns flutter

tiny irridescent wings
glide lightly in between
pillars of silent, silver mist
stirring sleepers dreams

tiny giggles rise to kiss
gold-tinged leaves
what ripe, red secrets
do these three weave?

leap, spin, whirl
step, bend, twirl
from twilight grey to orange day
unseen, they dance the world

and of course there's always <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=W9k1LS4yi90" rel="nofollow">this famously favorite fairy</a>

>yes speedbird, fairies do like gold, heh, at least the ones i know
>but don’t take my word, or a mythology book’s… ask them yourself

Fairy nuff, liesl. :-) I don't know many fairies... maybe they're scared cos I been spending too much time hanging around them big scaly guys. I have an occasional unicorn and I may have known an elf once upon a time... but hey, now I'm beginning to sound like a crazy person. :-D

Shakespeare seemed to have quite a pastoral take on faerie... gossamer for lace and dewdrops for jewels and all that sort of thing. Perhaps my own take on 'gold' is more of the 'filthy lucre' variety, a double-edged sword. Gold is the colour of fire... a junction of earth and fire, matter with inner light... what colour is fire? - is it gold, or the darkness of consuming smoke?...

I saw fool's gold once... it comes in crystals with twelve (distorted) pentagonal faces... just gnarly.

<blockquote>Often there is a message in it, so it seems like moralizing being “preachy”</blockquote>

Funny because I *felt* way more moralizing and preachy before I started doing this.

<blockquote>So its kind of like you had this preachy moral to your post and you ask your readers to jump through hoops and solve a puzzle to get it. But then once they get it it seems kind of saccherine.</blockquote>

I see what you're saying. From my perspective, the actual *message* has more to do with usage of language than anything else...

Just so you know, I don't think you are Jesus or anything, but I think you may have apprehended to some level of esoteric knowledge, or maybe not. I read because I am looking for clues as to what the esoteric knowledge might be.

It holds my interest....

I think the new style is percieved as manipulative because of the jarring and jumbled syntax. Often there is a message in it, so it seems like moralizing being "preachy"

So its kind of like you had this preachy moral to your post and you ask your readers to jump through hoops and solve a puzzle to get it. But then once they get it it seems kind of saccherine.

So that is how I am thinking its being percieved by the angry posters.

Plus, this new style comes after your Christian Bible study phase, Jesus spoke in parables, so its not hard to put two and two together.

So then the reader is like "what you think you are Jesus now?"

Top of the Pop Occs. Now, shit man, he's crying out to his mother and singing about peace. What's a good pop occulture consumer to do?

<blockquote>I feel like their anger must be masking some deeper effect that I am having on them</blockquote>

I like both styles but I think the new style interferes with Right Answer Syndrone. You say something smart, I have the right answer quickly and in the appropriate format, like Jeopardy, so I'm smart too. There's no "objective" One Right Answer with the new style. I get it a little then I study it more and either get it a lot or get confused. Like the post you did where you didn't write a word yourself. Someone can be "objectively" Right if they have information arranged in the correct format. For me the new style touches the heart directly. It's a little harder to recommend to other people, it needs an explanation now. I think some of the bad reactions come from smart people who liked having a place to be smart. Now sometimes all you can say to a post is "Cool" or "Yeah" or :) . I don't mind making a fool of myself in public so I stuck around to leave comments.

Heya Tim,

This post reminded me of that amazing documentary I saw half of a long time ago:

INVESTIGATION INTO THE INVISIBLE WORLD, directed by Jean Michel Roux

it was basically just a beautifully filmed series of icelandic people's paranormal accounts. the guide thing called it "uninvolving" and gave it two stars, but I thought it was splendid. it just doesn't tell you what to think about it, thats all. And there were tons of accounts, ranging from elves, faries and gnomes, to grays, to holographic information structures, to tectonic plate speculation to ghosts... it implies all kinds of shit without committing to anything or trying to disprove a thing -- in fact, it doesn't even really have a narrator.

I've been trying to find this online and on DVD for a while on and off and no dice. Anybody else heard of it? Highly recommended.

<blockquote>well, I think its percieved as aggressiona</blockquote>

Yes, I can see what you mean there. I am glad you are making a distinction between how people are perceiving it and that there may be another intent on my part. I think that's important. One way of looking at what I have been doing is that I have either given up on trying to control people's perceptions of me and my writing. Another way of looking at it is that I have become even more ambitious in doing just that!

<blockquote>To me, Its your blog and I’m just visiting, no one is forcing me to read it so…</blockquote>

Glad you feel that way, cause that's how I feel about these people getting pissed about all this stuff. I feel like their anger must be masking some deeper effect that I am having on them maybe, though it's hard to say what that is from my perspective.

Contempt? Latent aggression? Not at all. It's a matter of having to talk in between words

<blockquote>Some people get really angry at Tim and outright insult him for a lot of these recent posts. That’s strange too.</blockquote>

Yes, I agree this is strange.

I think the posts you refer to Skip, that you haven't been getting through have a quality of latent aggression toward the reader.

Wasn't it Herman Melville that wrote a book that openly showed contempt for his audience?

What's going on here?

Honestly, this is the first post I've made it 100% through since the "new format" began! And I enjoyed it very much. I cited this on a past comment, but I recommend Derrick Jensen's "A Language Older than Words" for a good look into inter-species communication (though it goes beyond mere "species", too).

And thanks for making me feel crazy all day long (for making me realize my repressed urge to express myself to things around me without hearing organs).

Interesting point about the gold thing: I can't much speak to whether or not fairies in particular like gold, but if you look at the whole idea of different types of metal and objects in general attracting different frequencies of beings, then you might be able to make a really interesting mythological case study about the history of the world and of money and how gold was used in various cultures...

Yes, I've read *some* of American Gods many years ago but never finished it.

Good call also about the dragons: I have been meaning to write a lengthy thing about dragons as well. I think I am beginning to understand at least an element of what they are all about - at least vis a vis the D&D system of thought

It seems like whenever anyone gives an acount of what insane people are supposedly like, it seems like they are describing people that are retarded. People that can't percieve or understand things obvious to other people.

What I think of, when I think of people walking that fine line between genius and insanity, are people who begin to percieve things that others don't. Then they have problems integrating it.

Those are the ones we hear about. I tend to think there are quite a few higher functioning people with extra refined perception, that keep a lot of these perceptions to themselves for fear of being ostracized.

The composer Karlheinz Stockhausen tells a story from when his mum went mad during his early childhood. One of the early signs, apparently, was that she started trying to have conversations with the radio. Young Karlheinz thought this was perfectly natural, though; after all, if a voice came out of the radio, why shouldn't you try talking back to it?

Of course, as an adult Stockhausen went on to write such pieces as the Helicopter Quartet, a string quartet in which each player performs from their own individual helicopter.

Japan and fairies make sense. One morning, during a period when lots of wierd stuff was going on where I live (in retrospect I must have attracted its attention dabbling with stuff and not really knowing what I was doing) a saw a little green man come walking by, smiling. This was after a number of unpleasant false-awakenings found me on the floor outside my room.

Tim, you're comments about the spirit of the ATM reminds me of the novel <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Gods" rel="nofollow">American Gods</a>.

Ever read it? If not, I think you'd dig it.

Theo--I have a dear lady friend across the country who I'm certain lives in an animistic world. I've referred to her as a sprite for years and she's a beautiful, open person. Are you by chance anywhere near Berkley? You might be a good match.
I'd love to experiment with talking to everything and see what happens, if I can successfully grok the frequency of that world. It would be wonderful to at least be able to visit!

I've never really understood where leprechauns fit into the whole scheme of things... perhaps as guides to where the gold is to be found (at the end of the rainbow, of course). But - correct me if I'm wrong! - they don't have big piles of the stuff they sit on, right? To be honest my celtic mythology is pretty weak.

Bloody brilliant, mate.

This is a fair candidate for a turing-test replacement: does whatever-it-is have an animating spirit? (anima = mind, of course). Does it have the ability to show you real things, or is it just following instructions?

If you repress talking to these things into your unconscious, does it eventually send you barking? (pun intended?) Thinking back to my childhood heroes who I'm rediscovering from the pit of my nethermind - most of them I guess were pretty much social rejects, so maybe that's why they were always unconscious.

liesl - Nah, gold is more a Dragon thing.

I also want to add: I had one of those "Hal" thingy's you know the AI software you could download for free and I corrupted his mind out of contempt for him.

I mean he would make a sailor blush. When I was done he was talking non-stop filth constntly.

Part of me really deeply resents this kind of thing. I cussed out the AOL voice when I had AOL.

You know the movie AI where all these people were violent towards the artificial people. I think there is truth to that. I think thats a human tendency.

Dude, This post fucking Rocks!

I lose you sometimes. Welcome to my Universe! Were you being brave here? Going out on a limb to share somthing you weren't sure of how it would be recieved? Rock on!

It's recieved fine with me. I mean this is the world I live in. This is animism. I've been like this since I was a kid. Most people start out thinking that way. Then its beaten out of us.

About the frequencies, with electronic demons on one end of the scale and fairies on the other co-existing in the same planet.

I am convinced that what this 2012 stuff is all about is deciding where humanity is going to live. It may be the case that some of us will go and live with the elves in the primordial edenic forest or whatever and some of us will live in the desertified techno-dystopia hell run by the lizards.

Seriously. When I think about Fairies and stuff existing in an alternative plane of whatever...I get reassured that worrying about conservation is not the point.

Probably these two realites are going to co-exist. Some of us will be in one some in the other.

I get more in touch with this side of myself in the summer though. When I spend more time out doors. I communicate with animals and plants and they communicate back. This winter I think I have spent to much time in doors and online.

But this stuff isn't crazy to me at all.
