You might like to, it hits strongly on the theme you are speaking about here, protecting yourself from God thru through the image of God. And it's an unread PKD to boot.

Wait a minute I just apologized and then said I wouldn't...
hmmmmmmm....
pardon my overreaction.
There is a good reason i don't have my own blog...
cuz ai really has nothing to say.
ai should probably go back to kindergarten...
and re-re-learn the alphabet
...or just to bed.

g'night.

Sorry... I kind of liked that feature, but obviously if it upsets your ai
then by all means I'll stop or... if you'd prefer me to not comment on
your site because I'm inhbiting discussion I promise you I'll never visit
your site again.

It'd be difficult for me to not read your *stuff*

but with this particular site... just say the word....

It's really just a distraction for me anyway.

part of my addictive ai I guess...

I always thought you were pretty cool, and maybe you are...

and I admit I can be a bit un-nerving

I am known as the apologizerer around these parts

but to tell you the truth I'm not very good at apologizing

so I won't

I meant the best wishes thing anyway... hope you can cheer up.

'what I can tell is that our ideas about these things are all well and good, but not the point…'

Forgive me for reverting back to * ? *

But, ai must then ask if there is a point at all... * ? * and inquire as to the nature of said point...

If said point involves the freedom of thought, expression, and speech, followed by careful
consideration upon/before and after and any action............................................

via tims link to the interpretations of the book of job...

'Job after his Illumination recognises and is non-resistant to the Law of Nature, God, which wills obedience from all things.'

Please bear with me through this boring, but very simplistic, logical argument and feel
free to tear it apart... I'll try to be as PC as I can... just for the hell of it.

Humankind arose from nature
Everything humankind has ever done is a part of nature
Therefore everything in humanity's future shall be part of the whole of nature

How can there even be, or have been, resistance to the law of nature if everything is natural?

ai realizes this argument denies the idea of the 'fall of man,' or it just acknowledges that we came from the earth... we did a lot of stuff *ai cannot place a value judgement on that stuff* and noone has ever resisted God... not one human in the history of humanity.

ai also realizes that from a *gestalt* perspective this places toasters (and all of technology)
essentially in the realm of evolution.

ai tells me the biggest flaw in this argument would have to be the introduction of actual
alien i.e. non-human, extra terrestrial entities or beings into the future of humanity...

unless of course that's already happened... then the whole argument is invalid, unsound
and a moot point.

I really wanted to hear "Pump up the Volume" by M|A|R|R|S so I put it on, then scrolled scrolled down your post to see how long it went on, and gasped as I came right to this part

Come the fuck on, men and women, brothers and sisters.

Because of one of the samples that song contains: (brothers and sisters!)

I think it’s about something different every time I read it.

That's awesome! That's more what I mean about it not mattering what you "think" about these subjects because every time you *experience* it you will be bringing something new to it. Not to say you shouldnt be aware of what your thoughts are around these subjects - because that can be helpful to show you the way and to show you what you need to strip away - but I do not think (see how paradoxically and annoying that is?) that should be the primary vehicel. Easier said than done though. Carry on!

The Rose Line: why is the Rose the symbol of the grail? Its on everything once you start looking.

red rose tube you (put you into a tube on the interweb). Walden Media, Walden Pond, Walden II.

I've been so busy playing Queen songs in my mind I missed this entirely. My Mother's name is Rose and her Grandfather's surname was Walden. She uses Walden and another family name as her internet name.

For me Job is one of the more "alive" books in the Bible. I think it's about something different every time I read it.

Not for nothing, and while I "built this city" on speculation myself, from my current standpoint what I can tell is that our ideas about these things are all well and good, but not the point... But like I said, thats just me. Make of it what you will.

Who are these people? Are they still around?

There is some serious shit buried in these Leviathan and Behemoth characters. Not seeing anything good online about it

Wait this i spretty decent

The bible, torah and qur'an may all have been inspired by the divine
presence of god...

...or they may have all been inspired by satan himself.

I like to consider all the possibilities.

I tend toward the idea that they were all written by a
clever collective ai... or a group of creative authors...
if you will.

I've thought and explored this subject with a good cross section of ai...
and the best conclusion we could come up with is that noone really knows
what the man was actually like... could've been way cool while, on the other
hand, he could've been a complete prick. How do we even contemplate the
actual ai of someone who existed over 2000 years ago, or... what he was
trying to achieve with his message... maybe he was the coolest thing since
*whatever the coolest thing since him is*... very possible, but you have to
consider that suicide by cop in front of your loved ones, while it may have
been cool at the time, isn't a very nice thing to do... if that's what happened.

Maybe he was as cool as the good book claims... I'm actually entirely open to
that possibility, I'm also open to the slight possibility that he was just some
dude that talked a lot... was actually completely appalled by the world he lived
in and wanted out asap. I know one thing... he and his buddies sold a lot of books...

That's something. I'm really not hatin' on JC... I'm not born again yet,
but I'm also no hater... just trying to further the discussion.............

Which is what the old crucifix symbol was to do - evoke the horrible power of transforming love, and the gruesome passion of sacrifice. It's a bit played out ... innoculated immunity and all. King Missle offered a great psalm. No matter how you nail him down, Yesshua was a waaaay cool revolutionary ... cooler than Che and Jello combined. Who would think God is love, or blessed is the poor? They're not listening, they're not listening still. Perhaps they never will ...

Then I calmed down and just looked at it and appreciated it.
And found it beautiful. And beyond the literal crazy of that painting (or what one could self-righteously take as such) and the literal crazy of the OT, there’s just this idea that this Enneffable Big Something is both utterly frightening to us and yet wonderful–it’s our fear of it that gives it all these fangs and claws and horror–not that that’s not part of it, but our interpretation of that being good or bad has an illusion-base.

Exactly! When I first saw it I found it to be so terrifying that I was intrigued by it. And now I don't think its scary at all. I just think its amazing and beautiful and one of the best portraits of God I've ever seen.

Babylon was a great city,
Her merchandise was of gold and silver,
Of precious stones, of pearls, of fine linen,
Of purple, silk and scarlet,
All manner vessels of ivory,
All manner vessels of most precious wood,
Of brass, iron and marble,
Cinnamon, odours and ointments,
Of frankincense, wine and oil,
Fine flour, wheat and beasts,
Sheep, horses, chariots, slaves
And the souls of men.

*

Word-lock... cool.

The mind tries to resolve conflicting ideas. If you come across a dilemma, the best thing is to just try and sit and hold it in your head without trying to resolve it. Things can be both air and earth, water and fire. It's hard to do. But stare for long enough, and you'll become aware of something else... trying to make you resolve the dilemma... choose red or blue, it says. Choose red or blue. It wants you to choose so you won't see it...

Love all the pictures of the beautiful ladies--cut those up how ever you like with your lions!

I came across that same hindu painting of that lion god mauling the crap out of that screaming man at the hari krishna temple I go to on sundays for a good, cheap dinner and happy dancing. A reaction occured with in me of both and repulsion and found the robomonkey making associations to the Old Testament god (the Lion of Judah) and all that wrathful business. Then I calmed down and just looked at it and appreciated it.
And found it beautiful. The Sikh gurus and many Sikhs to this day have the surname Singh, which means Lion.

These awful horror images of godhood can be used to scare us awake (or we can use them to scare ourselves awake, by shock)--but often we get scared or shocked then retreat further away from the Iz that Iz.

Tricky business, for sure.

Keep the observings coming.

Of course, I ended up googling what that horrific lion thing in the Hari Krishna painting was:

At the Invisible Man link I linked to Freddie Mercury and Queen and spent about 90 minutes watching them at Wembley Stadium and Live Aid. Time well spent. King Felix? King Freddie!! I was really moved by the music and by his dignity and grace while facing death. Then I came across your Bruce Lee mention and felt a connection between the two.

It's wordless but I'll try. Besides the strength it seems that they were outsiders who knew they were being punished for being who they were, not who others wanted them to be, and they didn't let that knowledge stop them. It seemed to give them a greater resolve and they were never broken or defeated, even in death. Like Obi-Wan Kenobi, they grow stronger in death.

"This is where the dragons went. They lie...not dead, not asleep, but...dormant. And although the space they occupy isn't like normal space, nevertheless they are packed in tightly.
The fact is, the noble dragon is one of the Discworld species that has evolved to live on magic. Their body materializes by magic, they flame by magic, they fly (or glide) by magic. Since the large amount of magic required for a noble dragon to exist in the more normal dimensions of Discworld is not available everywhere, noble dragons have gone into another dimension, all metaphorically squished up like rather huge and beautiful sardines. A noble dragon is summoned by a person, or several people, performing a ritual according to The Summoning of Dragons written by the wizard Tubul de Malachite many years ago. People performing this ritual have to imagine the dragon very intensely, and gather objects that might be magical. The noble dragon feeds on the magic, comes through the mind of one of those people, and afterwards may become able to read his mind. In effect, the materialized noble dragon shares some personality traits of the performer of this ritual.
