[...] Charles Manson, despite being the “Son of Man” wasn’t Jesus so much as he was John the Baptist. Just look at him out there ranting and raving like a wildman in the desert. John the Baptist was imprisoned by Herod, correct? And beheaded? That’s what television is for: beheadings, Talking Heads. Heads fixed onto the spikes of antennae which line the roads in and out of our towns and villages. Heads which moan and weep in warning, making an example of those who would be successful: play by our rules or rot in our prisons. Rome, Rome, what have you done for me lately? Besides all the infrastructure, that is? [...]

Yet another tangent, possibly to be explored later:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Magdalene

<blockquote>An argument for support of the married status of Jesus is that bachelorhood was very rare for Jewish males of Jesus' time, being generally regarded as a transgression of the first mitzvah (divine commandment) — "Be fruitful and multiply". According to this reasoning, it would have been unthinkable for an adult, unmarried Jew to travel about teaching as a rabbi.</blockquote>

People use that as "evidence" that Jesus was married. But if Jesus and Mary were having some kind of sacred tantric non-procreative sex, then it would only make sense that they would not be legally married, because their union would be of god and goddess in total ecstasy, which makes legal marriage irrelevant and laughable and provides a "logical" solution to the did Jesus have kids argument and still maintains Dan Brown's precious "Divine Feminine" stuff...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Onanism

<blockquote>Because of its divine institution for the propagation of man, the seed is not to be vainly ejaculated, nor is it to be damaged, nor is it to be wasted.

To have coitus other than to procreate children is to do injury to nature. </blockquote>

Could also describe esoteric sex practices of witholding ejaculation.

In the Bible God "kills" Onanism for spilling his seed. Didn't some Gnostics believe that procreating was a crime because it brought another soul into this world to suffer? By dispelling "seed" you condemn yourself to the cycle of death and nature DNA. By not spilling seed - we could conjecture - maybe God grant's eternal life through divine ecstatic sexual union with the goddess?

<blockquote>'If any man has an emission of semen, then he shall wash all his body in water, and be unclean until evening. And any garment and any leather on which there is semen, it shall be washed with water, and be unclean until evening. Also, when a woman lies with a man, and there is an emission of semen, they shall bathe in water, and be unclean until evening.'</blockquote>

Another interesting thought:

in chess the queen seems more powerful than any other player

and when pawns reach the opposing line their dedication and willingness to sacrifice themselves makes them into queens! although in checkers i guess its "king me", right?

I dig the reinterpretation, Tim. John the Baptist was a hardcore dude. Peace to the Mandeans--may they survive the bombings.

Coyote--like Jesus--is a benevolent trickster. And as you point out, Ted, coyotes live on the edges, outcasts. And Jesus hung about with outcasts. The symbolism we usually have is him as a shephard, but that's just as much condensing reference points from Dionysian religion (Dionysis was often depicted as a shephard) as anything else. (then again, Dionysus was a trickster...like Coyote Jesus/Ugly).

It's just picking the symbols that energize and speak to your soul and going with it fully, I'd say, that matters, so that you can act from your true nature.

Enjoying your darkworker experimentation on your site, btw, Ted. Best to you.

How's it goin, Alistair?

See, to me, The coyote is the opposite of Christ. But, like, I don't think that's profound or anything to disagree with Charles Manson.

But maybe They aren't opposite, I just associate them with being opposite from the perspective of being a former Christian. Maybe Christians are opposite of the coyote but Christ is not.

I associate being a Christian with being a sheep. Sheep want to feel safe and protected. They want a shepherd to provide security, so then their senses become duller the more faith they have in the shepherd. Because they don't need them. They atrophy. Like the eyes of a cave fish.

To be a coyote is to take a step into the dark side. To see the Universe as hostile and to seek to become indomitable. Coyotes are pretty much indomitable. They can't be killed off. The wolves got killed off. I think what it was was that the wolves reighned as Kings and got deposed, the coyotes evolved as outcasts, living on the edges in the shadow of the wolf. Wolves will kill coyotes on sight.

Interesting quote though Tim. I guess you are a mystical type Christian, more like Christ himself than one of his sheep.

well, it could be characterised as paranoia.......but when your own internal dialog shuts the fuck up for long enough it`s suprising what you hear, see, taste, smell and feel.

http://www.timboucher.com/journal/2005/06/01/mansons-helter-skelter-apocalypse/

And I've always been into this Manson quote:

<blockquote>“Have you ever seen the coyote in the desert? Watching, tuned in, completely aware. Christ on the cross, the coyote in the desert — it’s the same thing, man. The coyote is beautiful. He moves through the desert delicately, aware of everything, looking around. He hears every sound, smells every smell, sees everything that moves. He’s in a state of total paranoia, and total paranoia is total awareness.”</blockquote>
