So, I just got the call. It’s time for me to write the musical, finally. I mean, for real this time. I started half of a draft a while back before I went down there. And had some basic ideas flowing and whatnot. But now is the time. Now I am both charged and depleted, pushed to the edge of the breaking point break or something. So I guess I’m gonna do it. Not sure what will come of it necessarily, since my costar has gone MIA. It seems I chased her off in an aborted attempt to bring her closer. Isn’t that always the case.
My St. Jude candle burned out finally last night. My other one is still going. It will probably run until tonight or tomorrow. Which means I have that much time to finish. Maybe St. Jude thought it was for real a lost cause. I mean, I know he tried. And that’s cool. It’s all anybody can do.
I’ve been thinking though: it’s time for a female Jesus. It was brought up in a roundabout way a long time ago, but the idea never got off the ground. It really only makes sense though what with everything in the air these days. I’m thinking, at the moment, that the story will mostly be centered before Jesus starts his (her) actual ministry. It may just start there, I don’t know. But you never really hear about those “lost years” where Jesus just flitted from place to place trying to fill in some vast empty hole in his life before finally being like “Fuck, okay. I guess I actually have to do this now.”
I think I can relate to that moment in life well enough to actually capture it now. Though I will still need help with the music part. I’m just going to write out what I write and then maybe someday somebody will see fit to graft in cheesy 80’s and 90’s rock lyrics on top of it. That would certainly be awesome, but I’m no longer really counting on it, I guess.
I’m trying to find good albums for mood music while I do this. I’m thinking I can just run it straight through today for the most part. At least get it into a serviceable form to come back and revise next week before the wedding. I had another good variation of the musical set around a wedding (the Wedding at Canaa) as well, but I will have to come back to that obviously. The time isn’t right.
I need music that is going to both fill up my ears and empty out my brain of anything not relevant and useful.
I wish I had the whole album this song comes from:
That video feels oddly appropriate to me somehow right now. Sometimes all you can really do to lament is turn on music and dance in your room for weird strangers. Roughly equivalent to what I do here. For some reason though the camera goes dark at a certain point while the music plays on. Also very accurate. YouTuber “simone87ranallo” writes in the comments to that vid, “you were so sexy, I can see you.. So why you have turned off the cam?”
That’s like a fucking haiku:
You were so sexy
I can see you. So why have
You turned off the cam?
We all have our reasons, people. Sometimes you just get so damned sexy that you have to turn off the cam. Because if people really saw it, they would flip their shit. That’s when you know you’re sexy is when you have to turn off the camera.
The camera’s going off for a little while. Maybe only the day. I’m not that sexy yet, but I’m working on it.

One of Meister Eckhart’s most famous students (the other being Tauler), Henry Suso wrote about Christ as an explicitly female character:
