So speaking of my mind writing things into narrative, I didn’t have a lot of results with the words. But I tried to weave a story in my mind from that list of pictures as I went down them. My mind totally rejected it, and kept inserting the word “meanwhile” between each one, like it was a comic book or movie and it was switching scenes. So I just let this happen, let the word meanwhile” repeat and saw each picture as another event happening simultaneously as the thing happening before. Oddly, my mind rejected this too as I kept doing it, and pretty soon, I could see several “story lines” begin to form, as it “returned” back to the same scenes we had flashed away from. One was about a cow, one about a changing object in space, all spawned by the guy in the first picture, who had no idea of the quantum trans-universal chaos he was causing with that finger pointing gesture.

Anyway, so the weird thing is, by attempting to see a narrative, I failed to see one. By not attempting to see a narrative and accepting a string of non-related things, I saw a narrative. Sweet.

I tried it with the two paragraphs that had the instructions. I held my fingers up in a diamond pattern. I got this. I think it’s a comment on the exercise itself.

The internet of a few years from now will just be these ticker tape machines which print out little fortunes which are keyword cluster digests of information which, if you like the fortune can then smoke and trip on psychedeliceutically as you navigate it like the spice to a member of the Spacing Guild.

Better than watchin’ old Seinfeld episodes.

Anyway, that’s just one way to slice it. I necessarily see what I need/want to see in an exercise like this. But you get the idea. Your mind *will* always pick out power words like this out of text and string them into a narrative which is layered into the actual stated meaning of the text. Be aware that you do this with EVERYTHING in your life!
