Hell yeaH! i TOTALLY AGREE. You took the words right out of my mouth.
But anyway, seriously, hang in there buddy. I know you are hurting. just know in my anonymous electronically mediated way, I am there for you. I mean it. Your pain is valid. I don’t want to make light of it. But some time we should talk.
I owe you a lot. Take care of yourself man.

I actually feel pretty alright just right now. These notes were written weeks ago. I do appreciate the sentiment though
July 15th, 2007 at 5:32 pm
Ok, cool. The sentiment part was sincere, the first line was sarcastic. I have no idea what the hell you posted.
But I am glad you are doing better. I am really excited about gnosticism. I am trying to visit that Church that Guy Fr. Rassback that posts on her once and a while pastors.

Really? I’m less interested in “gnosticism” per se than I have ever been, as I’m beginning to see the great depth and subtlety available through completely orthodox and classic notions of Jesus and what it’s all about.

I guess what I am most excited about is the article on Cosmology I read by Philip K Dick. To me it has a lot of importnat ramifications to how I plan to live my life.
In what ways are you interested in the orthodox Christian version of Jesus as opposed to the gnostic version?
July 15th, 2007 at 7:26 pm
Here is a quote from the Dick article
“In this system, man is not accused of causing creation to fall (it is not satisfactory to state that man caused creation to fall inasmuch as man appears to be the central victim of the evils of the world, not their author). Nor does it hold God responsible for evil, pain, and suffering (which also is an unacceptable idea); instead, a third view is presented, that a limited entity termed “the artifact” is doing the best it can considering its limitations. Thus no evil deity (Iranian dualism, Gnosticism) is introduced.”
I like that part a lot. Since you have written so much lately about Adam and eve and the fall, would it be safe to say you disagree?
I am interested in your view.
Personally, I rejected wanting to serve a creator that dileberately wanted to cause me to suffer. Maybe this is a moral failing on my part. Maybe I was like Job and failed the test.
but in rebelling from that concept, I headed futher and further into nihlism and grudgingly accepting that the material world is all there is. I think through this I got a clear look at the world, without rose colored glasses, I kind of got into the harshness of it. But it leaves one feeling empty inside. Plus i did have spritual experiences of a world beyond I couldn’t account for.
but anyway, this cosmology gives me hope and a sense of purpose beyond, trying to be a predator and a sociopath in order to succeed in this world.
I feel energized to help bring continuing unfolding of isomorphism into his world.
Anyway it had a big effect on me.

Awesome. I will see if I can’t fold my responses to the above into the next thing I write. It’s all fitting together somehow…
July 15th, 2007 at 8:52 pm
Cool, I’ll be looking forward to it.

The part about the universe being a dog wanting to serve you is kind of about PKD’s artifact:
http://www.timboucher.com/journal/2007.../16/shit-help-bad-hot-army-boom-kill/
Think of the universe as a wish-granting computer whose biggest challenge is to sort out all the conflicting commands you are constantly feeding it.
I know that still doesn’t answer the other questions…
