Dwells At Ease In Its Nine-Gated Fortress

One does not need magic if one exists fully within the moment, at rest with things as they are. No conflict exists and therefore no desire. This is the difference between the mystic and the sorceror. Both the sorceror and the warrior are concerned with cultivating harmony between intention and action. The mystic has wiped out intention by renunciation of the fruits of action, not of action itself. Krishna instructs Arjuna that instrument, act and agent are the constituents of action.

“When a man of vision sees
nature’s qualities as the agent
of action and knows what lies beyond,
he enters into my being.” - BG 14:18

Krishna is talking about chess. Nature’s qualities means the rules under which the characters on the gameboard are governed and according to which they move. They may move in thus wise only. [See also: fairy chess]

One is not purified of his sins, but by them. This is the secret meaning of Purgatory. Hell is when you cling to your sins. Clinging, attachment, is what separates Man from God.

One may be attached to ‘good’ things as well though, such as Love.

And Jesus said unto him, “Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.” - Mk 10:18

“Action called passionate
is performed with great effort
by an individualist
who seeks to satisfy his desires.” - BG 18:24

The lion, under these circumstances, is sure to be wounded, for the lion is the thunderous opening of the heart at the first stirrng of Love’s summer beams upon his sleeping visage. He awakens, roars announcing his present and rushes off to the hunt only to be skewered by his game, the object of his desire.

Love must be sacrificed in the heart temple, not worshipped. In the Hui-Ming Ching, they correctly say that if you see a Bodhisattva do not stop and talk with it. The reason being that this being will - if you have purified yourself to the point where intention and action are unified, or close to it - offer to fulfill your deepest longing. It won’t matter if you tell it what that longing is because it can see into the darkest recesses of your heart. If your deepest longing is to master your fear, it will give you a chance to do so by confronting you with a terrifying visage (in the appearance of a demon). If you long most for the acceptance and security of love, it will offer you that. The Virgin Mary assured me in a vision that she would only ever be drunk on my love. Thus my fate was sealed. But Love must be sacrificed on the altar of the heart temple, not clinged to. Desire for Love is an attachment springing from our biological roots, and thus leads to in/security, in/dependence, identity and control issues. To quell the desire for Love is to open the gate wide for True Love, caritas, to march into the castle victoriously.

Make ready the Way of the Lord. Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

So, like, you can be in love and not have it fulfill a deep emotional need? Because you have developed a type of independance and self reliance in a way?

    I can really see that.

It would be nice to be like that and to meet a woman like that.

  2. Tim Boucher Says:

Yeah, it sure would, wouldn’t it?

I guess its one of those things where you find ‘em when you are ready for ‘em.

I think the Gnostic Jesus and the celibate Jesus have their good points though. I think either way, they demonstrate somthing besides finding completion in another.

Actually, on further consideration of this question - which I think is important:

To say, “It would be nice to be like that and to meet a woman like that,” is to instill within yourself a desire to be achieve a certain condition. By intending to achieve a certain condition - even if its a “noble” one - you set yourself up for the inevitable suffering brought about by failure.

Better to solve the riddle of how not even to desire that
