Solutions are infinite. Problems are not.

The reason people have jobs in our society is not to keep the economy going. It is so that people do not have time for self-mastery. Jobs keep our society functioning at a low level instead of kicking up and evolving into higher levels which it immediately would if everyone mastered themselves.

Understand that I am not talking about something arbitrary and impossible to pinpoint like “raising consciousness.” No one has ever to my satisfaction been clearly able to explain what that means or just how it would benefit us. “Well, people would know more.” So what? It doesn’t matter how much you know if you haven’t mastered yourself. If you haven’t mastered yourself you won’t be able to actualize your intentions into the world of actual action. You will just hover above yourself as though you have “raised your consciousness” but without having anchored it in any kind of reality. Your body is an instrument. Your life is the notes it produces.

Solutions are infinite. Problems are not.

I have been wondering lately whether or not repentance is a prerequisite for forgiveness. I am not talking about God or morality. I am talking about the affairs of one human to another and how to reconcile when differences arise without losing your cool.

The purpose of public education, as well, is to prevent self-mastery. Subjects are taught individually in blocks with no conceptual associations and no attempts to actualize any of it into the world of actual action. I am increasingly operating under the belief that anyone can achieve the basics of self-mastery within only a month of diligent practice of some very simple activities, with an eye towards how they all fit together.

Out of self-mastery flows honesty, clarity and emotional tranquility. People become conscious of their own hang-ups and equipped with the tools to right them gradually daily. Communication becomes crisp and precise and efficient. Social interactions become infinitely more human and enjoyable because hidden baggage (unrecognized assumptions and unexplained expectations) is dropped. These things wither up and die within the span of only a few weeks and you’re left with the distinct impression that you can handle just about anything that comes up. As someone said, your problems aren’t solved, necessarily, but they become solvable.

The reason no one has enough money is that for someone to have money, someone else has to have none. Money is wasted value. The dollar sign $ is the symbol of the striking serpent.

Where perception has its reception is the place of conception for deception.

Been meaning to get into Proverbs. I really *get* the purpose of religious transmission via “sayings” now

Then you might like this. Careful which Christians you show it to.

“Proverbs 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.”

    Nice hook. (Good title, too.)

I dunno about the words ‘reason’, ‘purpose’. I know that’s what they /do/, but ‘purpose’ implies some sort of conscious intent. Whose conscious intent? Cos I’m all for whuppin’ their sorry little ass. I’m more for thinking it’s an unconscious intent, design, legend.

You are demonstrating that perception is linked to decision, which is the most important point of all.

But read some John Taylor Gatto to further enhance your perception that public education is actually *designed* that way…

This is one of the best posts I’ve read by you for a while. What you are saying here resonates with truth for myself.

The whole designed / purpose thing is an interesting, mind bending concept when you break it down. Take the example of money, if you look at it of course it was designed as a concept by one person or group of people.

But look at it from another way and you see that it is a naturally evolved outcome of the circumstances of the time, a system, or even a meme if you take that analogy. It exploited a niche in a society, acting symbioticly with those in power at the time (and now even) in order to propagate itself.

Things are designed with intent, and things also naturally arise. Both are equally true statements in my book.
