While passing the graveyard, I found a skull.

To You Whose Skull I Find

The thing you’re not realizing about “enlightenment” is that it is just another state of being - just like anything else is. It is one facet of the human experience, one of many. And it is always a trade-off when you take one shape over another. You must remember that sadness can be fun, grief can be gorgeous and suffering is such exquisite beauty that only some of the angels were strong enough to even bear a little of it - and their hearts became so heavy that they fell into the Pit of Tartarus. Hell is the place where beauty is most treasured. Beauty beholds itself and through its own open mouth escapes in an awe of recognition, one gust of wind joining another.

That is why we hold onto these things: these sad things, these bad things: because these things in human life are all treasures, exquisite in their complexity, the orgasm of Christ on the Chross as the veil of the Temple is rent. Holy shit! he screams. All this time! All this time, it was me! Whereupon he becomes affixed to the beauty of his own suffering and descends into Hell, the place where Beauty is valued most, over and above the Heavenly Host or the Holy Ghost.

Don’t try to be pure, just be true! is what he taught the spirits in prison there. In this world you are purified by your sins and not of them. So sin until you do not need to any more. Do it till it hurts, till it bleeds. Till you cannot believe that it’s become a bore.

You’ll be the Biggest Loser, he shouted and with a flick of his thumb rose up the chimney, Old St. Nick leaving us gifts. But I wanted coal! the children all shouted. And Jesus from up in space just laughed and shook his head, “These kids are so retarded.”

If you give away everything you have, you’ll have nothing left to protect…

…but also nothing to hold onto. This is what I meant about trade-offs.

Man created Art to attract Woman.

Man created Religion when he got tired of Woman.

Me Tarzan, you Jane. Again and again. Again and again.

True Love is without desire
From desire springs control
From control springs
chaos and failure to control.

True Love seeks nothing in wages or rewards.
Don’t try to be Pure. Just try to be True.
Sin until you don’t need to any more.

I will wait for you here: mourning
for the Death of Sadness
and the final failure of False Images of Love & Beauty™.

  1. Tim Boucher Says:

From Hagakure (by way of Ghost Dog):

Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day when one’s body and mind are at peace, one should meditate on being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown into the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from thousand foot cliffs, dying of disease or committing seppuku at the death of one’s master. And every day without fail one should consider himself as dead.

  2. astepoutside Says:

Enlightenment, the ideal sought by so many is an ill defined thing, a phantom ever retreating in the distance. There are just states of being, all equally valid. Some a little bit more painful to the psyche.

  3. Tim Boucher Says:

Pain is a type of beauty, fear a sub-species of joy

  4. astepoutside Says:

yeah exactly. It’s what makes you feel alive

Not to be confrontational or anything but i couldn’t agree less. I mean I am open to the possibility that there is somthing here I just don’t understand but…

  6. Tim Boucher Says:

I am open to the possibility

Then that’s all you need and you’re golden. Nobody can ask or give anything more than to be open to possibilities of how and what to experience in life.

PS. Just be confrontational! It’s fun and gets us further if we’re all just honest with ourselves and each other.

  7. Ted Heistman Says:

Yeah, but its so weird. it seems like whatever you post I take the contrary position. I feel like maybe I am just a moron that likes to come here and disagree with everything you say.

Believe me I don’t have a problem being confrontational.

But its wierd though. I used to come here because you wrote about stuff I was interested in, then you got all Christian Gnosticy and touchy feely and mystical, at the same time as I was expirimenting with polarizing to the dark side and getting all into Nietzsche and nihilism and figuring who to achieve power.

So now I am a gnostic and you are praising pain and saying its beautiful, boxing and so forth.

I guess there is no opposite position to take on Juggling or memorising the Gettysburg adress, but this is weird!

  8. Ted Heistman Says:

Aren’t you just trying to avoid pain by saying its beautiful?

  9. Tim Boucher Says:

No, not at all. It’s beautiful to hurt. You cherish it. You remember it. You hold onto it. It makes you grow once you let it go.

Nietzsche came up over here but a few moments ago:

Why not? Maybe that’s a clue as what to focus on.

Nah, actually it keeps going, but that’s a pretty good swath if I say so myself. Forgive me if I am having trouble communicating clearly as I am trying to boil down the essence of quite a lot of things at once into a quasi-linear transmittable format.

  11. Ted Heistman Says:

By “physical element” I am referring to controlled use of muscles. I’ll write about it more later, but each of the archons could be thought of as an autonomous program which has been wired into the body at an open-imprint learning point, and then reinforced through repeated use. The meditation upon each of these archon control centers (Reich’s body armor, I believe) ought to have a corresponding physical component which is designed to over-ride imprinted patterns (through conscious pain), and give back to the brain direct control over sensory data sources which have laid dormant. By opening up all areas of the body to direct access and control by the brain-mind (yoga), you throw down the power of the archons and unravel the false self-world of the demiurge.

well that is pretty cool. I can get with that. I am trying to get in shape, I joined a Gym, my excuse is I just diagnosed myself with diabetes.

But I was into this stuff a while back. I think I mentioned it on here. I used to allow my body to be posessed by an angel and i would climb rocks and run through the woods and do stunts.

I think the angel was trying to show me some of the same things you are working on. I think it was a matial arts teaching angel.

I got scared though and didn’t totally abandon myself to the experience. But I want to try some of this stuff again.

Now about the taboos: How are you going to overcome those?

You aren’t going to eat shit and commit canibalism and necrophilia are you?

  12. Ted Heistman Says:

Wow we cross posted just as I was typing about allowing myself to be posessed by an angel. I could have said demon.

Those are all great links. You are onto somthing. Maybe I should be an MMA fighter after all. I want to master my body and open myself up to new worlds.

  13. Ted Heistman Says:

I know this is only distantly related but do you think this Guy knows some of this stuff? I like to watch this Guy fight and I feel there is a supernatural element to it. Just the control he has over his body and his emotions.

get the hell out of town. I want me a martial arts teaching angel! does s/he take referrals? seriously though, that is cool.

  15. Ted Heistman Says:

Its cool, except for the fact that I was a total fuck up of a student.

but I don’t think its too late. I think what it is, is that there are certian conditions that have to be met for an angel like this to interact. You have to be in fairly good shape. And you have to be really open to the experience and willing to trust.

Most of the stuff was trust building exercises. Like “jump off this rock”
“walk here in these dark woods” one of the coolest things is that it led me to a sleeping hawk in a tree.

Leter on its body would super impose on mine and show me how to move better.

Here is how it started though, go to my blog and check out my post with the two videos of the australian dude. I think the title is “this happened to me when I was 15″ Its a code you can do to communicate with God. I say “angel” God. I don’t really know. It coukld be me talking to myself from another dimension. It could be one or more than one, but that is how it started with the little code thingy.

  16. She never speaks to me in dreams. - Pop Occulture Says:

[…] Or maybe instead this is the most harmonious reflection of inner and outer states which I have ever achieved. I had a good one earlier this year, but I made the grave and youthful mistake of pinning the responsibility for it onto someone else, onto another being struggling, as Rilke talks about, with their own solitude. Rilke writes about this in his Letters to a Young Poet, which strikes me as oddly similar to some of the admonitions for the proper conduct of the young samurai found in the Hagakure: […]
