I clicked on that "listen now" thing expecting to hear your voice. "This is a test of the emergency abundance system," I heard and thought how cool... I wonder how Tim made his voice sound really smooth like one of those announcer guys.

Then I realized it was a computerized voice. Crrreeeepy!

But cool. I can see how that would be really helpful for vision-impaired people. Or other reasons, too, but I can't imagine using it myself. Maybe if I was really addicted to blogging and had a laptop in my car.

What did you envision it being used for? Out of curiosity.

Shit! Thanks so much to everybody who contributed. That is totally awesome and helps me out tremendously to get my shit together. I have been working out all these plans and honing my intentions, and taking preliminary actions to bring all kinds of cool things into existence. More about that on-going...

interesting post. as i began to read it i immediately thought of the different games we play and especially with regards to money.

monopoly money will continue to attract monopoly money and other forms of worthless printed bits of paper.......

only real money will attract more real money.

and the coincedances will guide you.

Well, that's cool. It's just that I'm broke now. but looks like your expiriment is going really well without me!

Much more to come on these topics. There is a great shift of focus occurring for me both in my life and in my writing. I feel like I am ready to actually begin applying all the theoretical blah blah into the actual world and initiating positive movements forward in people’s lives.

BTW, I'm really excited about this!

Ted, I will actually be away (and need to pay before I leave), that is why I changed the end date. But the regular old donation button will remain regardless! Hint hint, wink wink!

Aditi: Yeah I am thinking about the micropayments thing as well. Not sure I like that model yet though, but more and more ideas are beginning to form for me, especially the more people I share these ideas with. So many people are in the same boat and if there is a way we could sort of all work together towards the same goals, seems like a no brainer to make that actualized into reality on some level.

hey,

first time i've checked your page in a year or so and this is a concept i'm struggling with as well currently. actually, more of how to support yourself on the most minimal amount of money to get the most done (art, music, writing wise). would rather live in some shithole for a few years to do some actual work than to struggle to make ends meet working somewhere so expensive that you're forced to work 60+ hours a week while going about your most desire pursuits. maybe microcredit if you can't find a deliriously rich benefactor.

the potential power of small directed acts made by many individuals

Awesome! That is a major part of what I am going for in all this (aside from just plain old raising the money!). Imagine we could leverage this kind of thing on a much greater scale...

Take only symbolic action - this is something I have been trying to put into words lately and having a difficult time with.

I sent you $10. I didn't seek to remedy your situation (I could have sent you $100), only to assist in showing the potential power of small directed acts made by many individuals (assistance on multiple levels).

> I found a one dollar bill in Monopoly money on the ground.

Gnarly!

The 'render unto Caesar' thing always seemed pretty explicit to me. Whose image is on this coin? All about representations of things... deep.

A dollar is merely a share of the pie. What's in the pie is more important.
