Gathertogetherin/ MAKE LIFE A MUSICAL.
“Your life is just a musical - a performance you’re writing and directing for yourself and acting out and making up as you go along, so you might as well make it interesting, if nothing else.”
- theBrooke
Life is a full-contact musical performance. What song is your character singing in this scene? How are the reviews? Are the performers enjoying themselves? Can you re-write this scene to improve it? What if you could make money performing the musical of your life?
Gathertogetherin is a shared value community dedicated to exploring these questions concretely and creatively by celebrating the musical of life, both literally and metaphorically. We are creating an open-source collaborative performance phenomenon that inspires people to transform their lives for the better.
Think of it as a musical theater version of Fight Club. Instead of beating the piss out of each other though, we bring together creative people - actors, artists, musicians, writers, dancers, teachers, performers comedians, communicators, etc – and go hog-wild re-writing and performing consciously the stories of our lives. Through this focusing of intent, life stops being something that simply happens to us, and instead becomes something that we choose to creatively improve.
Our greatest resource is each other. How many amazingly creative people do you know? Tons? Wouldn’t it be awesome to see them all working together on huge kick-ass projects? The vision behind Gathertogetherin is to create a framework for exactly that to happen – kind of like the Wu Tang Clan. Our shared vision and values unite and inspire us. Whenever each one of us succeeds, we all benefit. And as an open-source creative project, everyone involved can benefit from it personally, socially, financially – in whatever way they see fit. The name of the game is mutually inspired abundance.
So, let’s just make it happen. Gathertogetherin is still in the early stages of planning, promotion and networking. If you’d like to be a part of it, there are a bunch of ways you can help. A website is currently being constructed to act as a central hub for various artists and groups working on the musical. A few different script versions are also underway to act as focal points and platforms for people to build upon. Below are some additional possibilities to get the ball rolling; feel free to expand and improvise as you see fit. It’s your life and your musical, after all. May as well enjoy it!
- Tell friends, arch-enemies, and fellow creative-types about this project. Print, photocopy, hand out and email this document to anybody who might be remotely interested.
- Start writing and performing songs and scenes from your life’s musical. Don’t just write about how things already are, but imagine how things could be, how you want them to be. Focus your intentions and act them out until they become real.
- Blog about it. Post songs, scenes, scripts, costume ideas, character sketches, etc to your website, to MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, etc. Make sure you mention the keyword/tag “gathertogetherin” so other people working under this umbrella can easily find each other and collaborate.
- Add us on MySpace. Send an email to gathertogetherin@gmail.com to get on the mailing list for further updates.

Okay! Make a plan! Execute your plan! Profit from it.
And connect it somehow however remotely to the word “gathertogetherin”. Then we all profit from it whoever is connected with it.

Continuing the tradition I have started:
Jason Dove’s New Album, “We Should Be Together” which has art (not included here) powered by my good friend Drew’s highly professional and goddamned classy and sexy illustrations, and art-direction from internationally-recognized New World Border: scaleable solutions for perceiving the world™. (Who I am currently under contract with now legally. I’ve hired them on as strategic consultant. [They’re kinda like when Han Solo becomes a general at the end.])
The album grew on me a lot. It’s like allowing part of yourself to sink back into how you felt in highschool about stuff, except to like try and do it right this time. By just being more honest and expressive. But to still not have it quite work the right way and to just have to come to terms with it like that. At least that is what it means to me right now. It’s one of those albums that you forget it was made by some dude you know™ because its just that good.

[…] Parallel to this, I’m getting big into some new concepts, like ‘shared value community‘ and ‘mutually inspired abundance‘ (and a bunch of other, related ideas) that my esteemed friend and collegue Tim has been developing and fostering over at his site. So with that in mind, I would like to open up my current Web Feng Shui™ process to the shared value community that is you, my valued readers/listeners/friends. Here’s the deal: you’ll inspire my abundance, and I’ll inspire yours (if you want, of course). […]
