Store Info In Other People’s Brains

As a strategist, I try to always make sure that my tactics operate on many levels at once. In this case, not only am I encouraging people to share their value with one another, but also with me. What that means for me is I get to find out what kinds of information certain people really are passionate about. Understanding that gives me the ability to tailor my communications with them in the way that is most mutually beneficial.

Ted Heistman’s excellent skills inventory not only serves as a great example of the type of content I was hoping to see people generate, but also inspired me to write this post. This quote from his page is great:

I read this thing where somtimes friends and family store info in other peoples brains. Like for example, they have people that certian remember things, so they just ask them, that way they don’t have to remember.

Ted also nailed a perfect description of what I am trying to do with all of this “shared value community” stuff via my website. Just think of me as the host at a party, and I am trying to facilitate introductions and conversations between all of you:

If you have a bunch of friends that don’t know each other and you invite them over, its good to tell everyone their name and somthing about them that other people would be interested in. It will hopefully facilitate a conversation and help people become connected. That’s the host’s job.
