Enlightenment & Insurance
Another one from here.
So one has to get rid of this idea of death because death doesn’t exist for you. It’s finished. Moreover all such people who are afraid of their death go on having insurances, this, that, all headaches you see. And ultimately what happens, all these worldly things we leave here and depart. There is, I don’t think, anybody could carry even a little dust with that soul which is departing.
They also talk about that in I think this episode of this BBC documentary about lifestyle marketing: how insurance companies started getting freaked out in the 1960’s that people weren’t buying life insurance anymore because they had been liberated from the logical restraints of that kind of limiting language. So they made a new language, one which would expertly fit each of us as the individual unique snowflake market segments we all are. How much money can they expect to make from you this year? Do you think they don’t know, that they don’t have that figure for each of us somewhere? It’s how much we are worth. It’s whether we live or die.
