To Be Of Use

I am entering, I think, that period of my life in which my purpose has been made clear: to render service unto others. The details of how that comission is to be carried out are not altogether clear yet, but the basic fact itself is so blatantly obvious it cannot be denied. Now that my purpose is clear and my heart has been made pure, things seem to be falling naturally into place.

While you are diligently searching for your calling you will be constantly interrupted by people needing help with the most tedious, never wracking, boring tasks. Everytime you feel close to your ultimate destiny you’ll just miss it. After several years of this you’ll figure it out. Don’t say you weren’t warned.

I need a word like ‘greed’, except that it means pursuing what’s truly best for yourself by pursuing what’s truly best for others. I feel like this is a concept that should be pushed into our language toolkit.

Okay! I will work on that. That’s a good homework assigment for me. Proudhon’s Mutualism comes near to that in some ways but we need a handy nouveau slogan thingy. I think the Art of Peace also connects to that as well, but neither of those really nails it at all. It will come to me!

How about “selfish”? The word is commonly thrown around so negatively, but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can be selfish, considerate, and empathetic at the same time.

    SELFISH CHARITY

    or

    SELFISH CHARITIES

That’s really good. I would buy a .org domain name around that possibly, but someone else should feel free to do so and make selfish charitable money off it!

Now that I’ve noticed it it happens when I’m trying to figure out how to fix things. For years I was just annoyed.
