I hope you have carpeted floors. :) especially because one of the tricks to getting the right point of balance is to slightly overshoot, but then arch your back a bit to keep from going over. It's easier to hold the position, too, when you do that. Whereas if you undershoot, there's no salvaging that. you just come back down.

Another little variation is to try going into a handstand without using any forward momentum. That is, just place your hands right in front of your feet, then use only your legs to push up into a handstand from that position. It's actually kind of easier to stay up when you do it that way.

Cheesy high fives to you and The Strategist! Handstands rule.

Still meaning to write up

Hey, get to work. I put down my hard earned money every day...um. Your friends are interfering with my future reading list...emm. "The Strategist"? You need a consultant to be upside down? (See, this is why you should avoid a real job for as long as possible. This is how you talk to people after 11 straight hour at work dealing w/crazy coworkers + clients.)

Still meaning to write up extensive pieces on circus symbolism, as well as Depression era stuff, the Revival movement, proprioception, etc. Just getting a little sidetracked by the people around me, who are excellent friends and patient teachers. Baltimore is treating me well.
