Alex King’s Comment License Plugin Installed

Making a formal notice here that I have installed a terms of service/license plugin which makes it so that you must agree to the following statement in order to post a comment (ADD + VALUE) on my site:

{TOS: By submitting a comment here you grant this site a perpetual license to reproduce your words and name/web site URL link in attribution.}

Updated:

{TOS: By submitting a comment here you grant this site a perpetual license to reproduce your words and name/web site URL link, as provided with your comment in attribution.}

It’s not designed to do anything differently, really. Basically it’s just saying that if you post a comment on my site, I have the right to keep it on my site. This is the assumption under which I have allowed commenting on my site to occur up until now, but I thought it would only make sense to have to it be more explicit, as I am beginning to get more involved in contracts, agreements, licenses, etc.

The plugin comes direct from Alex King, and the wording is a slightly modified version of what he uses on his site.

    You’re welcome to reproduce my posts here, for sure. But I would like this better:

    By submitting a comment here you grant this site a perpetual license to reproduce your words and name/web site URL link, as provided with your comment in attribution.

    This protects the anonymity of pseudonym users when you know who they really are (through email given or donation)

    Consider it changed! That is a valuable distinction to make.
