Does anybody remember a news article about a man in, I think, Canada who was trying to oppose Canadian national ID card on religious grounds. My memory on the subject has not been good enough to isolate the original article (which originated on a major corporate news site - possibly BBC or CBC). I believe the ruling was against him on the grounds that he was not a member of an officially recognized religion which had written statements of belief.
I did, however, find an article which references that legal precendence in Canada: that the Hutterites were exempt in Alberta (are they still?) on religious grounds.
Thanks for your help. Over and out, spacemonkeys.

And I just want to say: I found the information resources I did manage to track down much more easily with Microsoft Live than with Google. I’m going to begin switching over searches to Live on a more regular basis and see if this trend holds out.
