    Michael Pollan has an excellent chapter on Johnny Appleseed in his book “The Botany of Desire”.

    Yeah, that’s a great book. Johnny Appleseed was really into Swedenborg, for anybody who doesn’t know. There is a real and worthwhile connection to be followed there, especially symbolically.
