I just asked one of my (Vermont) references about this and she said she didn't know of anyone currently backing community money with land. The thing's I didn't get taught back in school... Do you think this system would be viable now or what modifications would need to be made? I seem to recall something about a few places...maybe Vermont?...beginning to work out local currency use again and that it existed in some blurry legal space vis a vis the federal gangsterment. Wow.
