I have vague recollections of watching the evolution of this stuff from the UK side of the pond. What always amazes me is how it kinda stuck: whoever thought of /scratching a record as an entirely valid musical instrument/? [Vinyl as an instrument that has to be played - wayyy deep.] A microphone and a record player, and you got a band - how cool is that?!. I have a lot of respect for these guys. Never mind those dudes what can spin on they head.
