Urban Scout Speaks:
I wonder if Converse is one of his unofficial sponsors too! {See his photo}:
I didn’t really need to read anthropological text and work through the civilized bullshit. Though, when it comes time to challenge the civilized I often feel at a loss… “Where did you hear those facts?!?” They want to know. For me, the philosophy of rewilding just makes sense from my own observations about the world and civilization. I don’t need to know the hard archeological data to presume that life before civilization felt better and didn’t destroy the planet.
Another quote I like from this website: “But when civilizations mythmaking assholes twist the facts to make me look like a dipshit, I never know what to say…”

I think uncivilized life would “feel” better than civilized life but not for the reasons a lot of primitivists state.

To be a primitive is to have a small and very local sphere of interest. If everyone were primitive there would be no knowlege of the whole.
That’s why the names primitive tribes give themselves are often translated basically as “the people.” Because the only people they are concerned with are themselves.
You can argue that once societies become large and complex they ultimately become unsustainable and destructive.
But There is no way primitivism can be held up as a superior way to manage large nations or the world as a whole. Because primitive tribes aren’t concerned with managing large complex societies but only little isolated tribes.
